Keep watching for a BONUS conversation with the amazing Dr. Lisa Mosconi, a neuroscientist and expert on the female brain. She dives DEEP into the intricacies of women’s cognitive health, how to prevent Alzheimer’s disease, and how to optimize for greater cognitive function and energy throughout our lives as women!
DR. AMEN’S TRUTH BOMBS:
"The female brain, especially in the emotional circuit of the brain, are very busy, much more active. Their frontal lobe...is significantly more active in the female brain."
"Unlike parents, whenever Freddy does anything like what I want him to do, I notice him. I give him a hug and I give him a fish."
"And so if you can search for the evidence rather than you think something's wrong, but you really don't have evidence, and it just could be the right side of your brain is working too hard."
"Watch your products that you put on your body, because parabens and phthalates are hormone disruptors, so that's a very bad thing."
“Don't believe everything you think. Whenever you feel sad or mad or nervous or out of control, write it down, and then just ask yourself whether or not it's true."

I disagree. If a man really values you, he WILL remember what you like. You won't have to remind him 5,000 times like a surrogate mommy. If he takes you for granted, he'll care about his sports or video games more. I've seen the difference personally. Don't settle for men who don't have any softness to them, that's just not a good deal.

Men have a great memory capacity for things that matter and can even be super focused For exemple: They can remember all the players of the football league, the transactions, date and time of the games. If his partner is important he will remember and if he's unfocused, add or something he would use notes and alarms to remember

Yes true, but also that can happen sometimes, it's key to not treat the person like crap over it cause sometimes( i say sometimes cause i mean the people who fr care not people who don't care like you were saying) they really do care and just need a reminder, but I agree on most things should be remembered. Nobody is perfect everyone makes mistakes NOBODY has a perfect memory, and if you destroy a whole relationship just cause the other person forgot your favorite color or preference of something and just need a reminder? That's just toxic. But the rest of what you said is so so true!❤️ I really believe once someone is set in their ways and they are fine with themselves like that then they aren't gonna ever change so theres no point in putting all your effort into someone who isn't willing to put the same in for you❤️
@QueenKaeOfficial
@QueenKaeOfficial 2 ай бұрын
Also! I would like to add that's probably more of a foggy area with things because of some people have more problems with memory than others, short term, long term, from birth, sudden onset, concussions, dementia, and also trauma and ptsd or cptsd. And if you don't know if you or your partner had those sort of problems people might blame the person instead of understanding the underlying problems and working through them together.

@@QueenKaeOfficial oh, nobody is advocating for treating somebody like crap. I would say if your partner forgetting things which are important to you, you can pull back some of your energy, too. A healthy relationship is an equilibrium. He gives less, you give less. Instead you use that extra energy on yourself. It's important to nurture the relationship you have with yourself, too, so that's extra time and energy you take back. Nagging would just not be a good use of personal energy, as that would still be "putting energy in," and running the risk of not getting results.

I don’t know… I think it’s ok to know that men need reminders and more guidance when it comes to emotional maturity issues, but I’m not going to be “gentle” and “loving” when a man keeps forgetting an anniversary or continuing to cross a boundary that is objectively wrong. I also understand that men are not the primary care giver but a man who gets pissed if you ask for help with the kids, is a man who has no empathy or respect for his partner. I’m no doctor, but I say “when someone shows you who they are, believe them.” I’m not taking them for no damn cat scan. LOL

Of course it’s usually hormonal but many doctors misdiagnose and mistreat us. Then when you go to another doctor who treats you, one feels cheated out of life. This happened to me. All I needed was progesterone for my heavy bleeding, but all my doctor prescribed was the birth control pill. Glad I found two doctors who know how to treat me.

I was already Estrogen-dominant when they wanted to give me an Estrogen-Pill „to manage PCOS“, except the next doctor could not find any evidence of it. If these conclusions are based on scans done at an Amen clinic, wouldn't they be done on people who are there because they are already having trouble in their life that led them there? That would mean these observations are skewed and not a random crosssection of the population.

Very early into the video, my first question becomes: Are these brain differences by nature, or are they designed by socialisation? Are we training our children to behave and function in these ways due to societal expectations and demands we place on them based on gender? Can we improve the outcomes of all genders by changing how we raise kids?

Wow ….let’s continue medicalising the cyclical nature of women’s bodies. Understanding our cycles and cycle hacking is one thing. Honestly, if your partner is putting you on hormones to turn you into a more compliant version, I would be asking questions. Where was the pushback on this? How many men would have their hormones tampered with to make them into better husbands? Why do we as women spend so much time seeking to understand our partners so we can meet them where they are?

I'm just curious as to why this channel has gradually changed into one focusing on men and love and romance. When it started it was of women achieveing great things; breaking barriers; inventing things; launching and running successful businesses. Now it's super focused on romance, when women have much much much brighter and varied lives outside of their romantic dealings with men.

@@deb.m.7458 I never said those things weren't a part of life. My question is why has the channel changed focus from highlighting the exceptional achievements of women globally, into men men men, dating dating dating. It's an insidious change in direction. And I'm curious as to whether that was the original plan, or this is what we see when a channel starts pandering to what women have been conditioned to focus on in a patriarchal system. In the earlier days she features so many female CEOs and record breakers and I loved to see it because we as women are so starved of that content. But nowadays the videos on this channel are typically a variation of how to keep a man. It feels like a regression. My opinion anyways.

I suspect diet, sleep, avoiding all alcohol, sugar, processed foods, forgiveness, Jesus. Really at the end of the day, most will never have the opportunity to do hyperbaric O2 treatments or expensive supplements or detox retreats, but there are things we can do. This would be a really great topic to explore for someone in this field! Also, yes, EMF's are huge, as well as vaccines. This seems to be a taboo subject among leading wellness influencers, but its a massive deal too. Blessings!

Also, this is the worst part, none of us exist in a bubble….. The quality of one’s mate choices impacts hormone levels! All of this means nothing until we study the hormone profiles of family units or couples to examine the effects we have on one another. You only need look at the research into the effects of cortisol on the endocrine system. Autoimmune disease, cancer, chronic illness. The impact of ACE scores on health etc. I would suggest that before advising women to go on hormones or any long term pharmaceutical treatments, to really understand the possible cause of the imbalance.

I wish he could talk about men that “enjoy cheating.” I’m not someone who experienced it chronically but the 1 time, was it really me even if it’s not ever happened before? Or was he just wired that way and he was going to keep doing that to everyone anyway (wish I’d known about the fingers check! lol). So not so much they can’t think ahead, but is there such a thing that they plan ahead even more because they can’t wait to go cheat because the thrill is the cheating ?

I my self have to wait to be in a better financial position to bring myself and my children to his clinic because I can see the cascade of risk factors already affecting my love ones..

This advice does not hold up against personality disordered individuals or those with high numbers of traits. There needs to be a warning when people with good intentions put this information out there. Just like warnings on cigarettes. This is not appropriate. This can keep well meaning innocent individuals in abusive relationships. Passive aggressive behaviors can be hidden amongst this advice.

I would have liked a better description of PMDD. This affects hundreds of thousands of women and there is so little research on it. It’s essentially the brain being allergic to normal hormonal changes in the luteal phase of a woman’s cycle. I have never in my life heard it described as a “possible concussion that affects the frontal lobe.” That is just embarrassing that anyone would describe PMDD like that. More research from more qualified doctors is so needed and women should be demanding it. Are we seriously applauding this man for announcing that research has shown that men’s brains are different than women’s?
@jenster29

Operant conditioning with love and leadership is how I made champions out of a half sized new jr. high with trailer park kids. I NOTICED them, and I spoke it outloud and with my complete attention. Why don't they teach this in Relationship 101 class in high school or college????? Anything REALLY profoundly useful they don't teach in school. I noticed them, I spoike it publically, AND I tossed them a jolly rancher candy. 2 1/2 cents would get them to practice their music for an HOUR a week, not joking. Between them feeling good about themselves, incredibly productive, and making something recognizable and beautiful (music) and the treat, it was a winnning combination over and over and over again. My kids marched the Rose Parade (world class), won tri state sweepstakes over and over and over again and all Southern California four times, once all catagories. That's proof that recognizing the wonderful in kids and giving rewards based on merit WORKS.

I think Dr. Amen is brilliant, except for the part where he thinks women file for divorce because they are more likely to see problems. No!!!! Divorce papers are a chore and no fun and "dirty work" and men are okay to keep a wife and do "what they want" like affairs or have her as a good roommate, until he is really ready, or can in some other way "get her to do the dirty work of the divorce papers". He NEEDS to know this perspective! He sort of loses credibility all of a sudden with not understanding this important distinction. 45 to 55 is when the youngest turns 18 and the women is free of a "stuck situation" where she would have had to endure a horrific custody battle if she had divorced a man. It is also where we reach a point where we just can't pretend anymore or "Not see, what we know we have been seeing for decades now".
