Im a about a year and a half away from 40 and im just now getting into this mindset. My 30s were spent raising special needs kids and although i'll still be doing that, they are older now and i can prioritize my own career and mental health a bit more. Im glad you're getting this so early.

It's funny how often I see these proclamations. (don't judge myself, ignore time pressure, etc) Have you ever considered that maybe those pressures are there for good reason? What I'm starting to see is that women in general don't really know why they are alive. They go with the flow and what is popular until their 30s, having never considered their place in the broader context of their life. Men, in contrast, tend to focus extensively on who they strive to become in the future and how to get there. (not always from the beginning, but eventually) I have a lot of empathy for women. Society has pushed a lot of lies on you. My advice for women is to carefully consider what you want out of life (family or career) early, when you have the most power to affect reality. Men have the luxury of time to recover from their mistakes, while unfortunately, that is largely not the case for women.
