@andrewvincent72995 жыл бұрын
The album version is softer compared to this live version. Some of Paul's best stuff comes from his live performances. He just adds so much more to his songs when he plays live compared to their vanilla album versions. Every song in this Rockshow concert is better than their album versions.

How can you even say that. John Lennon never got to live, to show what awesome songs he would of written. But what he did was great! He was, The Leader of the Band!!
@carlbaumeister34394 жыл бұрын
@@karendurbin9460 I can say it bc it’s true. Just watch videos of them both performing live. Lennon basically stopped performing mid-70s bc of stage fright. As far as being the “leader of the band,” there was no official leader of The Beatles. But Lennon more or less led them until 1965. By ‘66, Lennon & McCartney were co-leaders. From ‘67 to ‘70, McCartney was their clear leader. Even Lennon acknowledged that. Lennon didn’t die until the Beatles had been broken up 10 years. During those 10 years, Lennon had only one #1 song (which he needed Elton John’s help with), and a scattering of tepidly-received albums. McCartney had at least seven #1 hits, a TON more Top Tens, a 5-6 consecutive #1 albums. In 1975-76, McCartney & Wings performed one of the best worldwide concert tours ever, which then produced a live #1 triple-record album. Lennon didn’t even produce any music, nor tour from 1976-mid-1980. He was tragically killed shortly after finally releasing a so-so album, which was released to mediocre response by fans and critics alike. After his senseless murder, it then went to #1. So I’d say he had plenty of time to write good songs between 1970 - 1980, and had a few good ones, but his output was quite inconsistent.
@ewest142 жыл бұрын
@@karendurbin9460 John did play live and had plenty of chances to do more of it. When he did, he couldn’t touch Paul’s live performances. Doesn’t matter if he was the “spiritual” leader of the Beatles. That means nothing for live performances

PJBDX wrote this: "Paul knows that Jimmy has always been his best guitarist." McCartney has had six main guys as lead guitarists in his live touring bands: George Harrison, Henry McCullough, Jimmy McCulloch, Laurence Juber, Robbie McIntosh and Rusty Anderson. They have all been exceptional in their own way.... but it could be argued that Jimmy might have been the most gifted or naturally talented. Btw... Paul McCartney also deserves recognition as a lead guitarist - as he has created some outstanding lead guitar work beginning with The Beatles in the 60's and continuing right into the 21st century. And... Paul has also had many other outstanding guitarists work with him in the studio (and live) over the years - such as: Eric Clapton, David Gilmour, Pete Townshend, Joe Walsh, Carl Perkins, Hank Marvin, Jeff Lynne, Steve Miller, Mick Green, Hugh McCracken, David Spinozza, Eric Stewart, Dave Edmunds.... and at least a dozen others (including his own son, James).
