This hits home..... my husband and I are having struggles with this kind of thing. At the end when she told you she wished you would believe her I immediately cried. My husband probably feels this way. I have gained weight having our five children and I just can't see my beauty anymore. @brittanymcguff You even typing this shows you’re willing to be vulnerable. Take that vulnerability, and maybe tell yourself you don’t love how you feel, so change it.. small exercises. You’re on KZbin right now, look up a ten minute video right now and start. Or, More importantly, know that everyone sees things we don’t in ourselves. I bet you can find something in your husband he doesn’t see, but you do. I guarantee he married you because of your soul, not your body. It’s YOU, your mind, that is doubting him/your beauty. Try taking that vulnerability and trusting in him. Speaking from experience.

So much wisdom and humility in this video. There's a part where Jordan said, "I just thought you already knew that stuff," when Sara said she found last week's video insightful. I found that really fascinating because (while I'm not married) I tend to make the same assumptions as Jordan did with the women in MY family. I assume they'd know that I feel a certain way about something, or why things are tough, or why something might hurt to say, or yadayada, because they're often so insightful that it just makes sense that they'd know. So it becomes too easy to not communicate some of this vital information and then I get confused or even hurt when they react as if they don't know certain things. I wonder how common those kinds of miscommunications are in family relationships like this. Thank you hugely to you both for your honesty and faith in making a relationship like this mirror Christ's with us.

9:55 I think you both have different organizational styles. Can I recommend the KZbin channel, “Clutterbug”? This was so helpful in my own marriage way more than anything else! She says that some people are more visual and others like things hidden and out of sight. She categorizes them in 4 separate bug categories. 🦋,🐝 ,🐞 And 🦗. She has a video about each “bug” and has a quick picture quiz you can take on her blog. And it’s all free! My husband is a “bee” 🐝 (visual abundance and micro organization) likes things out to see, is always doing tons of projects at a time and when he does put things away, he likes to micro organize them into several categories. I’m a “lady bug” 🐞 (visual simplicity and macro organization) and like things hidden and tossed in a basket, easy to put away but out of sight from view. I don’t like lids or anything that deters me from putting things away quickly. We’re totally opposite “bugs” but this has helped us give each other grace and know that we aren’t messy per se we just organize differently. Sara reminds me of my husband and Jordan reminds me more of me. I hope you guys can check this out. ♥️

@@BriarRoseA I am a minimalist too. I still have an organization style and so does the rest of my family. Most minimalist I see that don't like to see stuff would fall into the cricket category. That's just my opinion tho. I'm a minimalist but am a butterfly because I still need to see what I have.

I almost commented the same thing! Helped my marriage immensely.... Solved the "why why why do the clothes never go into the dirty laundry hamper, even when I move the hamper to the place they get thrown on the floor" problem... He wants to wear them again, and is visual, doesn't want them touching/getting lost under truly dirty clothes... Hooks on the side of the dresser solved a seven year problem!
@shay78214 жыл бұрын
BriarRose I think even as a hardcore minimalist with 10-100 items, it could still apply. “Clutter Bug” doesn’t mean being “clutter-y”. It’s just a cute name for an organizing system. If you’re a visual bug/organizer, you’ll hang your 10 items on a hook or have them out and about where you can see them. As a non-visual bug/organizer, you’ll probably put them somewhere out of sight, in a closet etc. 🙂

A topic that came up at my youth group bible study (before quarantine) was this analogy that if you’re driving in the dark!your windshield looks clean, but when you’re driving towards the light you can see all the dust and dirt on it. Basically what it means is if you see all of your flaws it’s because you’re going the right way (towards the light/good). Jordan saying how he sees all the stuff he does wrong made me think of this.

Been married a little over 23 years here. One little piece of advice about annoyances. Every married person gets annoyed with their spouses. We cannot change them- only the Lord can. So what you do is two things, 1) pray that the Lord would change YOU in order to love them better and, 2) be grateful and send a prayer of thanksgiving every time you have to go beyond yourself. For example, Sara's not as tidy as you? Pick up and praise the Lord you have things to pick up FOR her. Thank Him for the opportunity and the health to pick up after a lovely wife. And that should go both ways. Maybe Sara has to go beyond herself for you? She can do that and praise Him for a wonderful husband. When we are thanking Him for "all" things, watch Him fill hearts with joy for each other! Jesus said "happy are those who serve others". Happiness grows in a garden of gratitude and serving 🥰🥰🥰🥰

That you would even stop and think to do this and then actually follow through is more than a LOT of people would do. Instead of hiding in anger, denial or your sense of "I'm right" you decided to face your imperfections head on. Jordan you are setting up now the patterns your children and their children will follow. You have already started to set up healthy and good habits that will result in young men/women who treat their families with dignity and respect. In a world where that behavior is increasingly rare that does make you a hero. There is something about you guys that touches my heart and something about Sarah that really pulls my heart strings, she deserves someone who loves her enough to care that much. You're going to need to let go of a lot more of that control over perfection but it will come with time. I am messy and annoying and get over any spat and I've had to grow and learn to check in and control my areas of chaos. He's a perfectionist and principled and very hard on himself and he's had to learn to accept failure as growth and recognize the small wins through the big mountains. But way more than all that, we've learned how God has used 2 very different people to fortify each other in exactly the ways we need it. Our opposite natures make a well rounded whole. Apart you might be all those terms that you're defining yourself, but together those weaknesses are strengthened by each other and those strengths serve each other. You guys are so cute to watch. I can't say people drive each other less crazy as time goes on, but it sure does get a lot more fun to do so, and most nights we go to bed allowing the other live another day so all in all it works great when you focus on building up the whole together.

wow. I have found your channel with in the last 24 hours and honestly I feel like a fly on a wall in such an intimate conversation and it is amazing. This is probably the most real intimate marriage video between two people on youtube I have ever seen. It dose not even feel like a video but just watching two people have a hard conversation thank you for this it is amazing

I'm so grateful to be able to watch these videos. Your complete vulnerability and intimacy with us has really touched me, and I've started looking for ways I can improve my relationships with everyone around me. I'm not in a romantic relationship at the moment, but you've given me a lot to think and pray about for any future relationships of that nature. Even without a significant other, these videos and methods have also applied to my relationships with my family. I argue a lot with my mother, and being able to see how my actions and emotions have been instigating some of those arguments has helped a lot with trying to improve our relationship.

You guys are awesome. You just sharing your life shows how much you care for those who watch your videos. Communication is the key to a successful marriage. Whatever happens, don’t lose that. It will get busier when kids arrive but keep the spark and communication. God Bless you both.

I'm not married and I'm not in a relationship, but I related to so much of what Jordan said. These weeks in social isolation have been tough and I realize everyday just how much I dislike most things about myself. I struggle with finding good in things and anytime someone makes a comment on how I'm sweet or nice I just smile and say thank you, all while thinking "they have no idea how much I suck." In a weird way it's nice to know I'm not alone. I love these videos, they make me wish and pray for a person I can love and have arguments with, because at the end of the day it's the love that matters. You two are showing that.

I never comment on anything, but I really have appreciated the direction you've taken this channel in the past couple years, Jordan. Really encouraging and educational. Thank you! It's so rare to find one video--much less a whole channel--that is a constructive (refreshing, thought-provoking, etc...) place to spend time.

Jordan starts with the outside going in to work within. And Sara seems more like she works on the inside than it will start working on the outside for her. Like cars going opposite ways but you two work so well together , because you would crash if you were both just trying to fit into boxes that aren't you. Be yourselves, because God is showing through you that being honest and yourselves is making you one in a beautiful way, not a toxic one like the world can sometimes have, but a godly example! Thank you guys so much, this is so sweet and encouraging!!! God bless you guys!

I'm amazed at the maturity and wisdom you guys have about marriage for being married such a short time!!! Also, while I really appreciate your honesty and vulnerability but I also think you guys do a good job of not processing in videos. You tell us stuff well after the fact, after you've worked through much of something that has gone on. It's a good balance!!

Loooove this! Thanks for being so open and sharing your process of working through real life issues. Relationships aren't perfect but when two people have enough humility to admit they were wrong and grow from it thats more beautiful than perfection itself.

Sara starts crying. Jordan starts crying. I start crying. Everybody's crying up in the crying channel! Seriously though thank for having these vulnerable conversations and sharing with us. The intentionality you two demonstrate is inspiring. Our culture puts so much focus on self and we see that in marriages too. It's so powerful to see a marriage where you are trying to put one another above yourself and seeing what honoring your spouse looks like. Thank you
