I'm glad that I completely deleted all social media accounts that I had. Now I only use WhatsApp for messaging and groups and KZbin to watch videos. I even disabled KZbin watch history, so that it can't recommend me videos anymore. The only videos I watch now are from the list of channels I'm subscribed to, that I keep very short. Some day a few months ago, I decided, for one day, to completely avoid all screens (phone, computer) and do anything else. I ended up reading a lot from a book and going for a longer walk, and I liked it a lot. It's not impossible. The biggest problem for me though is that my daily job actually involves working all day on the computer, as a programmer.

Jordan, please put more bossa nova music into your videos! I like it, it's very calming, and it fits well into the vlog style of your videos. :)

Good job on drywalling and mudding your basement yourself! I paid someone to do this (my section looks smaller than what you’re doing) it cost over $10K. You’re saving a ton and learning a skill! (It took 1 guy 2 days so I don’t know if I have 3 coats of mud!)

I like the videos where you learn things more than the ones with “more content” anyway. 🙌🏼 you’re almost done! Excited to see the end result.

My little sister is now invested in this, Jordan. She's doing her own renovation and while your projects are different, your follow through is really motivating her so thank you!!

thoughts on the barefoot shoes, do you use them exclusively, will you make a video on them?
@JordanTaylorVideos9 күн бұрын
I pretty much use them exclusively now. I love them so much. I have a link for 20% off if you want some too lol

After mudding and sanding a few holes where there were wall heaters in our new house, I totally understand how mudding a whole basement takes so long and makes you feel so burnt out. I’m loving this series and you’re doing great Jordan!

6:30 How do I reach you about this? I’m actually super interested in something like this. Also seeing you get this much done is really inspiring for me and probably lots of other young men feeling lost in the world. This and Blimey Cow are my favorite channels for that reason.
Dude that before and after comparison is INSANE, I went back and rewatched it multiple times. LET'S GOOOOO JORDAN'S ON FIRE, GET HYPE 🔥💯🔥💯🔥💯

Good for you!! You’re doing an amazing job while doing everything else on the side! My sister and I helped our dad with construction work and watched him tape and mud our ceiling. It’s not easy. It does take talent and time! I feel so bad for people who have to do that haha 😂 Again… good for you! 👏

My husband and I are deeply invested in this. By that, I mean we look for the video each week. What's your plans with the exposed beams? Are you keeping them the natural stain and going to sand off the mud, or painting over them?
@SJD3610 күн бұрын
Wow! You conquered mudding! Looks great and now you have another skill under your belt! That's cool that you help people with KZbin. To me that sounds daunting to try, but at least I know who can help if I want to start a channel. You do a great job with your videos and so it's good to know you offer that! My husband has talked about starting a channel and now I can recommend you to him if he decides to do it for sure. Maybe we both can do the meeting together with you at some point and I could get a feel for if I want to attempt it! Thanks for sharing your struggles, highlights and more on here. It's been inspiring watching you!

I think these "excuses" are not excuses at all. They're reasons. An excuse is like, "Oh, I didn't work on my project because I... had to feed the fish," or something. Family life keeping you busy is not an excuse!

I have loved this series ❤️. It's so relatable...i am self taught on a lot of renovation work (and very much still learning) i have a ton of flooring I'm laying rn and this has been super motivating. I love that you have kept all the struggles and mess ups in, it definitely helps knowing I'm not the only one that has to keep redoing to learn, repetition is the best teacher lol. We're all rooting for you, you're doing an awesome job!

I have been looking forward to seeing how far you got today. So what if people think that having teo videos of you doing the mud is boring? So many are rooting for you and do find it entertaining. Keep going! Seeing the comparison of how far you have come along is so great. I am really impressed with your determination. The 18th of this month is a hard day for me to remember so it was nice having something good to look forward to on this hard day. So thank you so much for that.

Learning to mud is no joke. It's an art. As someone who spent 15 years in home remodeling, please let me offer you some advice. For the third coat, keep your knife as under pressure and parallel to the ceiling as possible. Also, thin your mud slightly. It will fill in the gaps a bit better and make sanding (where you will learn some more about this artform) much easier. Hang in there!
