I get asked a lot if I ever buy cars that are not what I expected. The answer is, "yes". It goes both ways. I have bought cars that were not as nice as I thought once I took a closer look and I have bought ones that were much better than expected. This 2009 Pontiac G8 GT is the latter.
Sorry but the car is no longer available.
About the car: The tires are at 50%. The brake pads are at 40% and rotors do have rust spots and pulsation. Typical LS exhaust manifold leak. Windows are 5% tint all around. The Corsa exhaust retails for $2000 new. I did not get any floor mats. Two keys and both work. All windows, locks and seats work. Rust free southern car so it would be a shame to subject it to salty winters but, hey, do what you want if you buy it. The engine mounts have been replaced already and I cannot confirm any internal engine work but someone has been there before.

If we were going based solely on looks, the Chevrolet Cruze is the better import from Holden. Unfortunately it got Chevy’s crappy engine choices instead of something with guts. I would give the G8 a close second.

@@billymasoner3735 The Cruze wasn't really an Australian import; it was designed by GM Daewoo in South Korea and built all over the world. The ones sold in America were built in Lordstown, Ohio, whereas the G8 was built by Holden in Australia and imported.

*Edit* Sorry, the car is no longer available. You had your chance. I will post a video of how it ended up…. Some people might not be happy. All you will have to do is transfer the title into your name and register it. If you happen to be from Illinois, I will handle all that for you. Again, it will have a clear IL title with a rebuilt brand (what is commonly referred to as a rebuilt title). PRICES ARE NOT NEGOTIABLE! So here are the options to buy the car the way you want it. The bare minimum to pass inspections and for a good daily driver. This includes replacing the complete RF suspension, wheel and a new tire. A used liner and fender painted to match, no blends (will be very close but never perfect. Just being honest). Buff the scratches on right doors and quarter. Reattach the front bumper. A wheel alignment, oil change, removing all the stickers and quick detail will also be done. This is the best option for a limited budget that you can build on as funds allow while still having a cheap, clean, rust-free Pontiac G8 GT to drive in the meantime. *$10,500 (title, tax, license and doc fees not included)* Additional work: Repaint front bumper and grilles: $600 Blend RF door and hood to color match fender: $500 Repaint shark fin antenna: $50 Repaint rear spoiler: $100 Repaint LR door, blend L 1/4 and LF door: $700 Repair A pillar dent and repaint: $200 New brake pads and rotors front and rear: $500 Each additional tire mounted and balanced $220 OEM tire inflation compressor and holder: $100 Out of state buyers must secure your own shipping or I'd be happy to pick you up at the airport if you want to drive it home. So if you are interested in purchasing this G8 fill out a contact form on my website and someone will be replying via email as soon as possible. www.vehcor.com/

It depends on whether you can make more money selling it fixed or more money using it to save the lives of other cars. Being Australian and seeing it get fixed would make me happy since Holden no longer exists in Australia. Every Holden and Holden based car should be preserved, but in the end, it's all about the money. So make your decision on that.

If I had not just got a new to mw car I would buy it restored to max as I keep cars until they no longer work. Pontiac doesn't exist & Holden doesn't exist. So this car is a double orphan.

I think it would be a fast flip and they are in high demand I would say go for it but it's not mine and my opinion isn't for everyone. Either way I will enjoy watching.

I say keep it and update your channel picture with silver and not white. Be awesome to do a giveaway, but I understand how everything is getting expensive and can’t afford to give anything away. Love your channel keep the videos coming -From a Florida Resident

My two cents: flip it and add the profit to your next repairs… or just buy more tools like I do. 🤷‍♂️

No, someone always outbids me. I try a lot. I had to wake up at 2:00AM to get this one from the auction when they listed it.

Being an Aussie (where the car came from orginally) I would say rebuild it. Thery are a great daily with heaps of them stil on the road over here doing sterling service. HOWEVER your car, do what you think is best for you. PS love the chanel and have learned something from each video you post.

am I the only one curious about what this one's parts would save? I wish I could buy it, those will be worth bux far sooner then later due to their limited availability and 400 hp v8
@vehcor

Let’s just say one of the cars it will save is way more rare than this and the other is not even remotely related to a G8.

Specifically states that votes don't matter and someone actually buying it is the only thing that will save it. Vast majority of commenters: Proceeds to vote for it being saved anyways.

Would love to buy this one with the recommendations listed above, for $13,500 that is one sweet ride, but alas I will settle for what ever the new owner goes for including you if no one takes it off your hands. Looking forward to the build. Thanks for sharing the opportunity with us subscribers on a chance to own this one right from the start..😎

$200 tire, $150 suspension, $75 wheel, $75 fender and liner. Exactly $500 in parts, a little over for the oil change though.
