I am so happy for him, that he could be in this film! I have searched for other videos of him and can usually only find audio, or small clips. Would love to see his Hagen, King Philip, Prince Gremin, and others! Films of parts of the Solti Decca studio recordings are on KZbin. He seems to have been the finest person!!! Let us be fair. Wagner got his inspiration from Carl Maria von Weber´s Freischuetz, You can clearly hear this in Rienzi and Lohengrin

When he was a child, he was part of the production and was on the stage ...but it's incredible how much Weber inspired Wagner...it isn't often said although obvious when one listens den Freischütz. How it's the music itself not the dramaturgy !

Ein herrliches Video! Ich bevorzuge aber Karl Christian Kohn in der legendären Freischütz-Aufnahme, in der Gottlob Frick den Eremiten singt. Daneben natürlich noch die unvergleichliche Elisabeth Grümmer als Agathe. Ist in diesem Video Wolfgang Windgassen der Tenor?
