Even the best consumer projectors just cannot maintain the light output for DolbyVision and HDR10+ This will change as these projectors get brighter. I think one off brand exists with DolbyVision but I read it was otherwise not a great projector. I think you will see DolbyVision in one of those short throw laser projectors first. IMHO I think you need 3500 lumens at least as a starting point. Not 3500 bullshit lumens like in some of the cheap projectors but the same measurement Epson uses in the 5050 or the even more strict Sony measurement, Sony rates some of their 4K native projectors under 1800 lumens but they perform pretty well above that rating. No not as bright as a 5050 or 5040 but not what I would expect a sub 1800 lumen projector to do. The thing for me is I have a cinemscope 2.35 screen and the Epsons have lens memory and it works really well to do constant image height setups.

How does the 5050UB compare to the new JVC LX-NZ3B? Is that a better projector (I understand it's about $1000 more than the Epson).

Hi, Would this be capable of running ps5 games in 4K? I thought i read somewhere that it does have some lag, or was I mistaken?

Why did you correct yourself with 1500 and 1600 lumens by having it as print on your video screen when you said 2500 and 2600 lumens? I'm wondering this because the 5040ub is 2500 lumens and the 5050ub is 2600 lumens.

Hello LVLONE I just wanted to say you have a great channel and I wanted to ask how were you able to afford this projector, I'm only 14 and I want to be able to afford this projector in the future, do you have any tips like what jobs try to do because you seem successful and i want to be able to afford a Home Theatre like yourself when I grow up

Do you know if this projector supports HDR10+ at 60 FPS? When I do auto detect of my connection on my Roku, I get a message stating the connection can only do HDR10+ at 30 FPS.

This projector doesn't support HDR10+ or Dolby Vision, just HDR10 at 4k and 60fps

6:38 only 4:2:2 chroma sampling.. kinda disappointing but still leaning towards this one or 6050 over the Sony 295es/jvc nx5

Make sure you're settings on the Epson and receive are supporting ARK and are on those HDMI ports

5050 its upscale to Simulated 4k ...not a true 4K projector... love my 5050

This is not a laser projector, those are short throw to ultra short throw. We had this around 15 feet. It's 60HZ as well so it supports 4k at 60fps. Epson does make laser projectors however, let us know if you'd like to see us review that?
