I've just added the Umbral Form ability. It currently lasts for 10 rounds and can be used once per combat.
Bonuses granted:
+Movement (haste)
+Immunity to Difficult Terrain
+Immunity to Darkness Blindness
+Immunity to Darkness (Line of Sight)
+Resistance to all damage except radiant and force
(Effectively makes it so you receive half damage from these damage types)
In this battle I use Eyes of the Dark and cast Darkness cloud
I use this cloud as cover to launch my spell attacks.
As I get low on spell slots - I do shift into slayer form - which might have been a mistake -as it eventually led to me getting blown up.
This is a Solo Level 11 Shadow Sorcerer vs 5 enemies - 3 of which are Steel Watch robots.

You should figure out how to add an animation for the Umbral Form. Something like the Dark Justiciar's effect when you're fighting them in the Temple of Shar in act 3. Looks quite meh without anything happening to your character.

If any of those enemies had dark vision would this tactic have worked?

Dark Vision (the type that Elf’s and the like get) does not see through Darkness spells- only a Shadow Sorcerer can see through darkness spells when he expends 2 sorcery points to cast Darkness.

Yeah darkvision only lets you see through mundane darkness not magical darkness. Only way something avoids the shadow sorc darkness cheese is with the warlock invocation Devil Sight or with some kind of alternative vision like blindsight/true seeing/tremor sense

So it breaks the AI? Why don't they go into the darkness to hit you?

its a problem in the base game, AI tend to avoid darkness and try to move around it.

My experience around darkness is that they wont mind going inside. Yours literally camped the edge doing nothing. @@pnpem

Slayer Form is Part of the vanilla Game (if you play as Dark Urge)

Did you give the hound the same immunity to darkness the player does? Because if not it's just a target and won't really ever stay around long enough to utilize. I'd also like to take a moment to rant about the spell choices for level 6 which are, in my opinion, beyond bad. Shadow blade is fine even though there's no good reason to go into melee with this class, but the rest? Bro Blur is a bad spell to begin with and it's flat out worse than darkness in every situation, Blindness is also worse than darkness in nearly every situation outside of TT RP situations. In BG3? Come on, now. These two spells combined aren't even as good as Darkness is normally and you already get that for free. See invisibility is marginally useful unless you take the free Volo surgery and can just do that permanently for free and even without that, it's so extremely rare that you'll want to use your action to see an invisible creature when you could just as easily fireball the area and hit them, break their invisibility and do damage all at once to them and anyone else nearby, it's equally pointless. but invisibility isn't the worst in the world. Kudos on that. I just implore you to see reason. Choosing spells for the theme is fine, but so many of these are awful to the point they won't be used. I would like to add that I do think it's a great mod and I know from experience how tedious it can be to mod for this game with how the files work. You've also made some fun changes to how shadow sorc works in the tabletop. The free spells are just my only irritation point, realistically. They might as well not exist.

I completely agree. The only reason this modded class is any "good" whatsoever is because the sorcery point Darkness is pretty much a godmode versus enemies. The enemies just stupidly clump up by the edge of the AoE and do nothing... how _exciting_ ... yawn. A completely busted mechanic, only reason OP died was because his godmode circle ran out of time! 🤣😂 If he had simply used Hat of Fire Acuity OP would have never missed his spells after the first turn or two. Then, after running out of spells & when he shifted to Umbral form - which does a lot of low hit attacks instead of big chonky hits - he tries to multiattack enemies with flat damage reduction!!! 🤣😂 And as you said, the spell picks are *absolutely* *horrendous.* He's using Scorching Ray/Fireball spam but not Hat of Fire Acuity? A good quarter of the spells on OP's hotbar could be replaced by having a hireling wizard in the camp cast those spells on you, sorcerors don't have spell slots to waste!
