Wow... what a debacle... so important for one to prep and have a contingency plan in place in case one has to "bug out" and flee their home... seems like these types of emergencies are happening with greater frequency... Geez I wonder why? Perhaps burning is cheaper than logging acres of land to be sold later? Majority of these woods, forests not viable for logging, so easier for the government, state to do man made fire to clear for land use!

The prairies of western Washington owe their existence to fires. When we build our houses in fire-prone areas there are consequences. The reason the woman has never seen this is because of fire suppression.

​​@@analienfromouterspacedoing nothing and letting the woods burn is easier, but doesn't mean it's always the best thing to do. People who live near woods are always given fire hazard advice, on chopping excess brush away especially near the home. I would say chopping and mulching is better even if it's not easier, because mulch helps hold water in the ground and build fertile soils.

Prison is several miles (about 7 or 8) west of this area.

All of the various causes considered... 7/4 fireworks possibly in the type of behaviors or other behaviors caused this fire. Its the best approach by the immediate actions of the community to protect people as well as personal properties it is a question that may be solved later when life's and mindsets are back to normal

When you live in a forest environment, you're thinking of a beautiful life, but when it's too hot you got fires, and when it's heavy rain you got flooding.

Over 1 acre Forest fires are pretty rare in Mason and it never floods except for hood canal lowlands. Thicker forests protect trees from high winds better than individual trees but I wouldn't move back to Tent Cities for all the "Safety" in the world. Best part is doing 70mph mostly everywhere .🏍
