These guys were killing it 34 years ago and continue to blow minds to this day with their superior musicianship and songwriting! 👍🤩

One of the best? The very best!

The way I understand it is that the beat Phil starts playing is simply to keep everything on track while adjustments took place as Mark hated silent moments. They did have a few equipment problems at this gig.

Ha ha I love that beginning......crowd clap clap clap Mark King clapping overhead to whatever it might be but certainly not Kansas City Milkman!! Not sure Phil was thinking (Mr Pink maybe?). Also not sure Phil can hear his vocal in his monitors!! Hey fluffs a-plenty!! Is this the gig I've got on that double Rockpalast DVD? I can't remember. Will have to dig it out and watch....:)

GTAMEDIAPRODUCTIONS;You are certainly on the right track. The current lineup is out standing as well. Saw them at Massey hall in the 80,s,along with every other bassist in the GTA.Some guys quit that night after watching Mark.I found it inspiring. They are even better!

I was about ten layers deep until I reached this jewel and all the Rockpalast show vids...it seems there is a priority to the way things appear when you go searching? Love this Vid

Actually, I wish the original line-up reunited, but played their early funk/fusion instrumentals.

Maybe but on songmeanings someone wrote: "This song is about the question whether what the media and government is the whole truth, and whether we want to know the truth about whats happening in the rest of the world. The 'Kansas city milkman' is the average (not too bright) person who reads and believes what he reads in the newspapers without filtering out the questionable bits." So? ^^

I hate Mark King - not only can he play super-solid bass and sing at the same time, the man can chew gum on top of it! This was such a fantastic period for Level 42: the band was great but still a little rough around the edges. Thanks a million for posting this!

I would rather have rough around the edges than the polished nonsense we have today.

Krys Mach always has a great sound, great music to solo over but he never seems to know what to play when he gets halfway through a solo, all over the shop. Much prefer Gary Barnacle. Wish Gary had toured with them in this period. Sorry Krys, if you're reading but hey.

i've always wanted to know who/what isa Kansas City Milkman?? (please don't say a man who delivers milk in Kansas!) i don't think anyone has ever explained the meaning of this song...does anyone know????
@gouduleme26 жыл бұрын
Kerr Avon a friend payed with lindup. The reason is Mark was shipping bottles of milk in front of houses’d doors ( old English custom ) at the begging , a little job in England. So he was probably inspired by a Novel named Kansas City’s milkman
@alnair8230 Жыл бұрын
In an interview with Phil 2 years ago, he said that 'Kansas City Milkman' was inspired by what his father did. His father was a journalist and wanted to report the truth that would be understood by a 'city milkman.'

They couldn't find the stage...a recurring problem. Mark and the late Alan Murphy got lost in holland in 1988 (fait accompli). One of these statements is false!
