So, so beautiful. The progressions in this song are devastatingly wonderful.
@sseltrek1a2b Жыл бұрын
their chord progressions are ridiculous, and the amount of emotion they convey is off the charts...

And to boot…how freaking incredible with Mark’s top shelf vocals (Mike too!), but to play bass at the level he does, and just kill it on vocals at the same time just blows me away!

For me it's one of the best songs from Level 42, simply fantastic, unfortunately it's rarely played at live performances but luckily they have this version from Holland :-)

A masterpiece and of course Boons lyrics and Alan Murphy’s guitar influence
@rojavida9 ай бұрын
Boon Gould left the group before this album. Are you sure he was involved in this track? This is from a genuine curiosity rather than any antagonistic motive.
@mazzarouni56089 ай бұрын
@@rojavida He left playing with the band but actually remained as a writer. His reason for leaving the band was that he was suffering with exhaustion. He didn’t leave like his brother Phil due to differences of opinion between him and Mark. That I think was the last time he worked with level 42.
@larzcaetano11 күн бұрын
@@mazzarouni5608 is there any way I can get in touch with you? Through email or any other preferable way? It’s been a year and a half since I got into Level 42 and I have a few questions about their line up. (Well, actually about many things lol, but I know no one who has appreciated the band)

a late 80s song by the quartet, Lindup King, Husband and listening to him, I can't help but remember the great Alan Murphy R.I.P
@toniperoni12 жыл бұрын
Definitely one of my faves. Gary nailed it here. The sound of his drums (snare), the EWI. The flagiolets on the bass. I think that Mark doesn't want to see this face too often in the mirror of him but it gave his voice some extra's during the 2009's...

Utterly superb. ... Gary Husband took this band to another level .. Not so sure about the current lineup. (pains me to say that) .. Love the band.

I love the story of how PRB got the drumming gig with L42 but I agree, can’t beat the Goulds / Husband/Murphy eras ...... I still love them though!

Absolutely MAGNIFICENT!!! If ever a chance for HNL as a site, that’d be bucket list X10. Been a deep fan since Standing. That’s not easy in the States, let alone on an island. Loved you ALL forever. All members regardless. Your music has literally changed my life. Mahalo for the wonderful live “Man” . Always felt this tune truly showcases the stretch 42 has always had. Anytime, any groove. Just beautiful. Thanks so much for doing what you miraculously do. 🎶

Great song but I'm still puzzled as to Why his Status Bass Guitars sound so thin & weak... I have 2 a Status Series II & a Status KingBass Artist Bass Guitar & when played through my Trace Elliot the sound so much better & hence why , up til a few years ago , I was blaming his Status Bass Guitars but since my 2 purchase I can & in fact I've put it down to his setting he has on his amp that are then feed through the mixing desk... Why Mark continues to have such a weak sound , only he knows , I soon found out its not the Status range of bass guitars... A great performance as also as this is a band that can deliver the songs recorded on Albums & bring them alive when playing Live Gigs... Still one of the best bands but before I go I saw an interview with Phil Gould & he was hit by tge usual annoying question " Would you go back to Level 42 " & he didn't show any signs of moving while he sat going over , which I think was an interview done online , & though he never truly answered that question he did state , of which I've agree with for so long , that they should release a New Album but with his brothers passing it would for my thing , done by the band as Boon as all Level 42 fans sadly found out that Boon had sadly passed away... Boon was a major contributor to writing & co-writing so many of Level 42's songs & even Phil help with lyrics also but incant help but wonder why they haven't released a New Album!.. It could be down to the fact that as buying albums yhe Music Industry has been dead since the end of the 90s & hence why they need to sell their albums from online websites & I wonder if they think that's not worth the money they'll spend to write a new album... There's only 1 band from the UK that I know has constantly recorded New material for their albums & thats Duran Duran & they always make money from their recorded albums , with the latest album called " Future Past " has , like their previous album Paper Gods , recieved great reviews to changing their sound & writing lyrics that still tell of stories worth listening to & I think with " Future Past " that makes it 15 Studio Albums recorded & released & I've not added the Live Tours or their side projects of " The Power Station & Arcadia " Which tells me there's still a market to sell albums for Level 42 & as much as I love hearing all those great songs from their albums , it would be great to hear a New Album , but maybe the just don't think there's enough market there to make any good money like they did decades ago!.. Who knows! As we might just get 1 more New Album from Level 42 before they call it a day with touring but until then they're still out touring ever 2 to 4 years & we should just enjoy the fact they are still touring & fans should go & see them as they may regret not doing this , if & when Level 42 do stop touring but until then we should just enjoy what they play Live... In light of this still ongoing coronavirus and it's variants stay safe and healthy wherever you are in this world... .....

Man… I wish I could get my hands on a Status Bass or Trace Elliot even. As to his sound… maybe it’s the way he plays. I bet the Status basses have a great punch due to its great construction. Are you also using .30 Rotosound strings? Regarding a new album… I wish they were writing new music. Would love to see them all getting into it again! Mark has superb bass lines and an amazing interpretation when singing. Mike is also incredibly good along with Nathan and Sean. Pete is a very good drummer too!
