Hell. even Sonic almost succumbed... He had infection for long but used his speed to burn it out and keep it in check.

@@leehongjin6884 the general rule for classic zombies in videogames and movies is that they don't like rotten meat so they seek to eat only the living. Also they can't die by starvation or by rotting themselves to dust because they don't need to eat and they don't crumble by themselves, eating is just a reflex of their damaged brain that has reverted to the most primitive function: eating to survive (even if they don't need to). Also usually they can't run, jump or swim (because that requires higher functions of the brain), and are very vulnerable when hit in the head, or burnt with fire. That's valid just for the zombies of the classic old horror movies and games tho, more recent zombies could be more powerful.

Did anyone else notice the fact that after Mario was killed by the zombified Hammer Bros., he was reduced to one life, but when he was turned by the zombified Piranha Plants, he suddenly had two lives again?
