Purple Mario from What if 8 Marios tried to beat Super Mario Bros.? begins level by saying "I'm the winner" or something like that and makes it five blocks before regular Mario appears from the sky landing on him and stomping him. regular looks around confused and shrugs his shoulders before continuing the level as normal before getting to Princess Peach where she thinks he is an imposter before stomping him and begins waiting for Purple Mario to save her. Bowser is also confused as if Purple Mario was norm and regular Mario was the impostor, but still tries to fight him but becomes confused when he is defeated faster than he could begin his first attack.

Mario finishes an acid/fire-proof video and enters the next video, but is unaware of the gimmick ability wearing off and he still thinks he is immune to that element. He proceeds to test his luck and loses a life as a result.
