Great review I received my DrakKant yesterday Stainless satin plus plate and it was kind of a let down in comparison to all the plates on my Carbon Backland Blackbird and even my Rockwell 6s on plate 5 & 6 which are my top three favorite. I didn’t like that the blade feel was dialed down. Seems very mild to me with the plus plate. Think even my Gamechanger .84 is a better all around shave. So this is my initial thoughts. May try different blades to see if I can achieve the shave I like.

If you're looking for blade feel, I'd say that all of the Aylsworth plates mute the feeling, although they do it without sacrificing efficiency. Alpha Shaving has some offerings that you might like if you're into blade feel!

Which plate of the Overlander would be equivalent to the Original plate of the Drakkant? I like mild razors like the Feather AS-D2

It's going to be hard to top the Feather AS-D2 as far as finding the mildest razor! Also, I'm not sure if it's a typo, but there's only one plate option for the Karve Overlander.

Nice review Jon. That game changer comparison is an interesting one. I may need to to a side by side with the D+. From memory the D+ is smoother and about same efficiency. The optimal shaving window seems a bit smaller with the D+. Trade off of Prob why it is smoother. Blade clamping is smoother on D+ esp atg. Again I’ll need to do a side by side. Have a good one.

Thanks for watching Chris, I'm going to have to agree with your memory that the D+ is a smoother blade with similar efficiency. I think it's just a better overall razor in comparison to the Game Changer razor, and that's coming from a long time Game Changer fan!
