Enjoyed the weekend dove hunting with our gun dog. He went thru training over the winter, (4 months with pro trainer) I worked with him in the yard over the summer when it wasnt too hot (west Texas). It was a rough start. He ate two dove and chomped down on my finger on opening day. Not in aggression though...i was trying to get what was left of a dove out of his mouth, but he ate most of it and got my finger in the process. Pretty discouraged on day 1, but we didnt give up. Ive been out each morning and evening since the opener on the 1st, and he is starting to settle in! Twelve birds brought to hand tonight! Even had to chase down a few cripples and brought them back alive. Thanks so much for your videos and assistance. Next I need to work on whistle sits and casting!! Seeing the dog work is SO MUCH FUN when the confidence starts to come up.

Never had to train my Lab to heel or sit or fetch he just to walk by my side and watch the door while my back is turned since he was 8 weeks old but if he doesn’t get his way he was very vocal 1st time I put the collar on him and hit the button on 1 he hasn’t threw a temper tantrum since but trying to get him to lay down on command has been a journey he always thinks he’s in trouble even when I’m trying to give him a treat
