A superb short video demonstrating 5 ways to remove plaster from a hawk to the trowel. The reasons for each different approach were explained clearly. Simple and effective guidance for anyone new to plastering - many thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise. It makes such a difference!!

Great vid! The hook method is hard to get used to as intuitively you’d think the trowel does most of the moving but it’s the hawk you are controlling mostly. Don’t forget, you can always do another full length plastering tutorial Alex. You can never have too many 😁

Thanks for the feedback on the video. Insider trading secret. We will be doing. Video “plastering for dummies” video showing how to plaster in a simplified manner. Which is full length. It’s been 2-3 years since we made a start to end video on a plastering set, so hopefully it will be better than the other one.

Good videos mate. What made you go for a Marshalltown permashape instead of your trusty carbons?!

Just breaking one in for the channel for a change. Still can’t beat a carbon IMO. Thanks for your feedback on the channel. Much appreciated

Any tips and tricks on stopping dura finish blistering ?
@M.E63 Жыл бұрын
I would say put it on thin as possible and when you mix it try not to add a lot of air into it, try not to pull the paddle up out the plaster while mixing
@ryanmcc1 Жыл бұрын
@@M.E63 that will only make it worse mate. I think it’s the air in between the hardwall and the dura that causes them. I have found some success in 1st coating a big hit then 2nd coating it when it’s taken up a good bit. But the dura finish is still temperamental. It’s like it does what it wants no matter what you do. It’s so unpredictable and that’s why it’s hard to work with

@@ryanmcc1 sorry I’m no expert to be honest, I was just saying what I thought made sense, I think the maximum thickness is 2mm but I maybe wrong again, it is something I wouldn’t try as so far I only practised once on a scrap plasterboard and my next task is plaster a wall, I’m got multi finish and the wall is already painted with silk paint and my plan is 2 coats of pva and do 2 thin coats as the wall is just been done rubbish, it’s not a drywall, hard wall with plaster on it but crap job, any tips or advice ?

I'd love to see a mixing multi video with zero talking that shows your whole process , when people do a mixing video and stop and talk through the middle of the video it doesn't show the novice plasterer exactly how long it should roughly take. Great video's by the way👍
@AlexMorleyPlastering Жыл бұрын
@@SunDazerider I will make a short on this. Should be easy enough to do in 1 min…. If I do it right. 😳

The old boy who taught me would shout if I didn't split the gear. He said you looked amateur going from the back and knuckles got dirty? But give him his dues he could split a full shovel of s & c all day long and used the biggest hawk he could.

Not at all. It’s probably one of the most commonly requested videos on the channel. The content is created for those who don’t know how to plaster. Not those that do. Thanks for watching the content though.
