The thing with depression is that if you had done all the medical tests and all is negative you will try anything not to feel depressed. Medication don't help everyone and in most cases it only relieve some of the symptoms. A healthy diet, moderate exercise and creating a friendly environment helps a lot. By moderate exercise I want to state that you need to determine the intensity of exercise that benefit your mood the best. Don't overdone it.

I disagree, most people around the world are low in vitamin D, are they all depressed? If medication doesn’t work then the depression will remain, esp when it comes to Treatment-resistant depression

This was very informative thank you. I was wondering how long does it take for antidepressants to start working and when you should stop them if they aren't working. Like I told you before I'm currently on mirtazapine. I hope you had a wonderful weekend 💙💜

If you are at a therapeutic dose for 8 weeks and do not see effects then it is time to either increase dose, if not already at the max dose or change medications. But always look for these root causes first.

That's what I thought was causing my depression was hypothyroidism. But I just got my thyroid checked and it's at 1.9 so I think thats good.
@LevelheadedMind2 ай бұрын
TSH should not be checked alone. Best assessed with Free T3, T4, and reverse T3. Also, check TPO and Thyroglobulin antibodies to rule out Hashimotos. All of these other levels can be off indicating hypothyroidism and TSH can be normal.

Thanks for sharing the scientific perspective however there could be other possible root causes I am sharing below. 1 - Emotional Pain 2 - Not leading the life that one want. 3 - Living with wrong relationship . 4 - Mother Curse 5 - Result of Past life karma 6 - Doing wrong career which you are not passionate .

My biggest worry with going on them is will they be like a bandage but the wound underneath will not heal. Like if I did a course of anti depressants for 6 months or something will my brain be permanently changed or will I constantly be coming back on and off them....

You need to look for the root cause and also work on some skills to help abate your symptoms.

@@LevelheadedMind I will look for it again..Also the article also reported how a bunch of independent scientists reviewed yrs of clinical trials done by big pharma and there results were amazing. THEY FOUND THAT MANY OF THE CLINICAL TRIALS NEGATIVE RESULTS WERE NOT REPORTED, THE PODITIVE RESULTS WERE EXAGERATED AS WELL ALSO THE DSM IS NOT SCIENTIFIC PROVEN OF ANY OF THERE SO CALLED DIAGNOSIS IT WAS A FASENATED ARTICLE I believe the study was done in England I found your KZbins really interesting but more and more studies are coming out that SSRI etc just don't work for the huge majority of people Another article , a study from Germany reported the SSRI etc were only a small percentage better the placebo it begs to ask the question if ssri etc were effective then why is depression the number 1 sickness in the world ? Your YT are awsome the world needs more people like you !

Any competent psychiatrist will test for these conditions. I had all these tests run and was referred to a nutritionist the first time I saw a psychiatrist FIFTEEN YEARS AGO. Have you ever heard of the phrase "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing"? You're hurting people with this information. Wait, you aren't in Clearwater, are you?

Consider yourself lucky in having a psychiatrist who actually ordered comprehensive lab testing, as that is not the norm.

People who speak on this subject should have a humility -it’s not that difficult to understand - to summarise - don't listen to anybody on this subject! - the research is ongoing!- listen carefully it's a developing subject best left to the experts!! Lots of “ experts “ on youtube 😮🤭😊

I'm not going to issue anymore stupid threats, but I hope that everybody who works in the psychiatric industry knows that there will come a day where you all will have to pay for what you've done to people..And there might be like some Nuremberg 2.0 style trials for you guys, and there could be some very serious consequences for you..
