Great episode! really enjoyed it! I also track my studies but your method is much more detailed. I use Google Sheets and Docs too since they’re accessible from any device. Tracking keeps me motivated. Thanks for sharing, looking forward to the next one😊

Hi Michael, best wishes for 2025! Could you please make a video or podcast on how you use Anki flashcards (and elaborate on what kind of sentences you use)? Thanks in advance. The way you track your study time is interesting! I think it’s helpful in staying motivated en continuing spending a bit of time everyday, that’s such a good habit. Personnally I don’t focus anymore on evaluating progress, I just make sure I continue learning steadily and try to be ‘proud’ on the effort I make. I’m not keeping track on the exact time I spend, but I do make (private) playlists on my KZbin channel with the video’s that I’ve been looking at in a certain week or month. This makes it visual what I’ve done. And I can easily repeat the harder ones, because since I’m over 30, I need a lot of repetition haha. For me focussing on progress is a bit tricky, I can be for months on a kind of plateau or even get the impression that I move backwards. But once in a while I do notice progress, so I just soldier on and trust that it will make a difference eventually. Greetings, Hayet

Great suggestion! I did show my Anki process a little bit in this video on my other channel: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqvSnnqKqL2riLc But it's not in a huge amount of detail. I may consider making another one, but not totally sure where I would post it. That feeling of being proud about what you've accomplished is an important, self-motivating thing! As you said, I think something else I didn't mention here was that learning isn't always linear. We have ups and downs and sometimes feel like we're taking a step back. My tracking doesn't really take that into account. Anyway, happy new year, Hayet! And thanks
