This 'Paul Tschinkel's Inner-Tube' program appeared on his Manhattan Cable TV show in 1980. It features live performances at Max's Kansas City and CBGBs in New York that epitomize the dynamic, exciting music of the time. We see a riveting performance by the Dead Boys and a fast paced one by Levi and the Rockats that also includes a guest appearance by rocker Jayne County. A short piece of old time fiddling music, taped a fiddling convention in Independence VA in 1973, rounds out the program.

Thanks. I like the photos you posted.Amazing stuff. I am thinking about a DVD release of music for "Paul Tschinkel's Inner-Tube Cable" show as recorded at Max's, CBGB's, etc. A great and historic time in New York City.

Somehow I missed your cable show even though I was living in the city then. I assume it was on Manhattan Cable public access or the paid public access channel? I guess I really didn't start watching those until 1982 or 83. How long did your show run?

I specially love the Johnny Thunders and Jayne County stuff, but lots of local NY bands from that era were amazing! And I saw some great videos that you made of Mary Ellen Mark in Soho, (RIP) and lots of others, keep it up! (: from NL

@@baronsaturday9529Jerry played with them for awhile. Then Levi left to go solo and the band went on called the Rockats. The Jerry got kicked out for drug use and being hard to handle. Jerry was a fantastic drummer and he was great stylist for any band he was in. Unfortunately heroin always got in his way. RIP Jerry💔🖤✝️ LET THERE BE 🥁 DRUMS

Who is on bass? That ain't Magnum. Dead Boys were known to play gigs without Magnum on bass. The show must go on scenario.... Great footage.

That is Frank Sechich. He took over for Jeff in 1979 and played with The Dead Boys until the end of 1980 with Stiv, and formed The Stiv Bators Band with him, then after he formed Club Wow with Jimmy Zero. Frank was in Blue Ash, big 70's Pop band and now is in The Deadbeat Poets, he's a great musician and great guy, very friendly!
