I think another major reason for Levis success is its easily accessible distribution pipeline. No matter what department store, discount outlet, or any other clothing store you go to, Levi's are by far the most prominently displayed in the pants section with the largest selection to choose from. And they have such good fits for practically any body type. And they just go with almost any ensemble you decide to dress for that day. So durable in fit, fashion forward, use/activity, and comfort.

Levi's quality has gone downhill over the past 15 years. The weight of the denim is not what it used to be. The 501 had the fit and durability and was my go-to work jean on the farm. Great video man! I work for them and am absolutely brand obsessed, you knocked it out of the park! Another fit number fact, the men’s fit numbers don’t stand for anything, they were just assigned at random. But each number in the women’s fits is representing something. The first number is the series 3s are the shaping series, 4 relaxed, and 7s. The second number is the rise. 1 is mid rise, 2 is high rise. The last number is leg opening 0-super skinny 1-skinny 2-Slim 4-straight 5-bootcut. Another couple fun facts, Levi himself never wore a pair of his jeans. The company pulled a “new coke” and decided to replace the button fly with a zipper on their 501s. It was met with outrage, customers writing letters to them pleading them to bring back the buttons, one guy said that “it’s like pissing through the jaws of a shark.” The company listened and reintroduced the buttons. That incident actually lead to the creation of the 505, a jean with a zipper fly cut similarly to the 501.

Good thing about that though was that they were so cheap, got him like 6 Levi's for like 110 dollars, about 17 dollars a pair at Macy's, it was a crazy sale for kids clothes. Look into it, if you're a smaller guy.

Gilberto Flores depending on brand, and style I'm actually a 31/32 x 30 or 31/32 x 29(if I need them for a dress occasion), so yeah kid sizes are too small lol. It's more the cut of Levi's jeans then anything they are just not comfortable. Plus for the price of Levi's I'll pass.

Commodorefan64 the 511 performance fit, size 20 regular should fit you just fine. Give them a try at a store. What I read about the origin of the number 501 is that when Levi's first began selling its jeans, they assigned each style a three-digit number with the first digit being anywhere from 1 to 5. This first digit represented the quality of the fabric, with 5 being the best.

The name "denim" derives from French serge de Nîmes, meaning 'serge from Nîmes'. Denim was traditionally colored blue with indigo dye to make blue jeans, although "jean" formerly denoted a different, lighter, cotton fabric. The contemporary use of the word "jeans" comes from the French word ((Gênes)) for Genoa, Italy

They’ve stood the test of time because men like me don’t care about current fashion. That’s why we wear something that’s been around for 150 years lol

Eh, I'm in my 20's, care about current fashion and love Levi's. They probably cater to everyone in some capacity.

Here in the UK, Levi's sells their items either themselves or through MAJOR high street stores (such as department store John Lewis & Selfridge & Co - BTW they also sell Gucci and Louis Vuitton). So yeah Levi's are huge in the UK

I was sharing your videos on Facebook and I noticed the quality difference between the Mars and Nestle was noticeable. I then went back and watched Kmart and this one and I must say you've come a long way my man. Please keep up the great work and interesting content.

I personally hate wearing trousers/jeans but I will admit I appreciate Levi's women's jeans. The last time I was there, they had jeans that were made with specific body types in mind: minimally curvy, curvy, and C U R V Y

As a hispanic kid Levis were and still are considered STier jeans and luxury to some extent just goes to show you how remaining quality and true to your brand influences people
@yozerk56096 жыл бұрын
The reason they are called 501 jeans is because 5 is the quality of the denim and since it’s their first pair of jeans it’s 01.I believe the jeans were just labeled XXX until they came up with a name.

I am from Europe (Russian, but I live in Germany now). For me the fact is that I tried different jeans: Wrangler, Lee, Esprit, etc. But the only ones which I found fitting me always, really always - are Levi's 501. I don't know why, but they fit the best. Time to time I try other jeans but no other jeans fit so nicely. So, when my pair of 501s warne out, I buy another one.

Levi's are always in style because I think they represent a basic baseline in terms of style. Levi's is part of Americana in the modern world and it's impossible to imagine a world without Levi's in it. And yes, Levi's is worldwide. In cold war East Germany you could trade a pair of Levi's (likely smuggled in from West Germany,) for a goddamn car. Jon Bon Jovi once told a story of how he traded a pair of Levi's to a Russian soldier for his uniform so he could wear it on stage for a show.

I think one of the reasons they stood the test of time is that they last so if you have others in your closet they are generally the last ones that get worn out. So at some point I started calculating how much I paid per year for Levi’s and those of other brands and the Levi’s 501 while being much more expensive than the others was cheaper to own due to it lasting longer than the others... So at some point I decided to stick to the 501 for day to day use and buy Brax for more dignified occasions :)

I am from Germany. And its very populare here. Some guys from around here even think its partly German. They conclude this because of the name Strauss. Because its a German Word/Name
@OCHollywood9495 жыл бұрын
Levi Strauss was Bavarian, I can see how German people see the Jeans as being partly German, that’s very interesting I never would have thought that... the other creator was Jacob Davis’s who was from Latvia, so interesting how global Levi’s really are...

I'm a huge Levi's fan myself. Always have been. I currently own 4 511's. Commuter Levi's with reflective materials on the ankle. They're built slightly thicker, they're all a solid color, no color distortion or pre fabric destruction.

The reason Levi's is so popular overseas and always has been is because Levi's started jeans. Levi's jeans is a piece of original Americana, it's not just jeans, it's a pair of Levi's, a representation of freedom and rebellion. I can only think of Coca-Cola with such of prestige. In most of Europe 501s used to be considered the only cool Levi's jeans, and I still believe the 501 is the ultimate jeans, although I like my True Religions a lot, they fit better and considered upscale, but still, they just aren't Levi's.
