It sounds to me that the "flashbang" you guys experienced was a meteorite. When they enter the atmosphere and start burning up, they emit an immense amount of light, enough to light up the whole sky like you guys mentioned. Since nobody saw it or the trail it leaves behind in the sky, it was most likely behind you. The reason for there being no sound is that it probably never made impact with the Earth's surface, and instead completely burned up before it could reach the ground. I've witnessed one meteroite myself and it pretty much mirrors your experience. It was around 1 or 2am, and it lit up the sky and surroundings in a blue-ish light, to the point where it looked like it was mid-day, but only for a second before it went back to being dark. Look up meteorite footage, it's quite an amazing and rare spectacle!

Love that last episode Alex said that it was the first episode where no one was ill, then ends up getting annihilated in a Looney Tunes style scene of destruction. Leviathans are not just coming, I fear, they may already be here.

Autism can change sensations, if you try hard enough then some pain can feel weirdly nice. I remember when I had a loose tooth and I'd move it around because it gives off a strange feeling.

I feel like you can frame it differently in your mind if the pain isn't so bad. Like the throbbing is your blood vessels carrying the oxygen and nutrients needed for your body to heal.

I have heard of small meteorites entering the atmosphere and emitting light suddenly like that when they burn out. It also does not make a sound. Most likely you guys saw that. It often goes by super fast and not many people might have seen it. Maybe it was right above you guys and that is why it seemed like the light was "everywhere". I am Finnish and I have heard a couple of stories like this from northern Finland.

Fun tidbit about orangutans, there have been cases of tourists in what I believe is Indonesia being forcefully taken hostage by Orangutans. They'll simply get up close and grab a person, where they then might flash their teeth while pulling the tourists fingers to their mouths, only releasing if a satisfactory amount of fruit is handed to them. There is a story of a tourist who ended up separated from his group during a walk in the jungle and this orangutan was chasing him, trying to grab him. It was jumping from tree to tree, dropping on him multiple times, making him jump out of the way each time. It must be pretty harrowing to be forcefully held by a creature that powerful. You are effectively helpless. If you resist too much or panic, it might get agitated and obliterate you. Moral of the story, don't feed wild orangutans. Once they connect humans with food, they'll eventually figure out that extortion is the simplest and easiest way to get that food.

Hi JAR, I have a suggestion for your strange light phenomenon - disclaimer: I am a mere 3rd-year astrophysics student at university, so this is based on what limited knowledge I have. What came to mind for me was that it was a geomagnetic storm, more commonly known as aurora (aurora borealis being specifically the northern lights). Essentially, this is when the charged ionic particles from the solar wind get trapped in the earth's ionosphere and the interactions with the magnetic field that traps them there cause the emission of light. Usually, this only happens on the earth's poles, however, as you mentioned it was around sunset I wonder if it just so happened that a higher density of these particles got caught in the ionosphere due to the fact that they would be traveling parallel to the magnetic field lines of the earth, thus causing the emission of light. The Sun also has slightly more energetic events called "Solar flares", which may be this was, potentially the reason why it was so visible, however, this should have caused some interference with electronics, but maybe you weren't listening to the radio and it was Spotify. Anyway, this is the only thing I can think of, and it amused me how you guys referred to the event as a flare because that is potentially the reason why. However, I am doubtful that this is the case as I do not think it could be so localized, but as I said - the only thing I could think of. Keep up the good cast, and if there are any other astrophysical or physical phenomena you are confused by I would love to take a crack at it!

The sky thing is actually so weird/crazy to me because I swear i saw the same thing ages ago too. I was looking out my window (in Scotland) maybe around 5pm and it suddenly went bright for like 2 seconds. This whole time i thought I was just hallucinating or something or it was to do with the lights indoors. Although it was literally the sky, but no one was with me to confirm it. I completely forgot about this til now.

I had a dream last night about a piece of JAR lost media. It consisted of a video that James had filmed in his yard of his neighbor acting whimsically. For example, he would hop around his own yard on a pogo stick. However, upon realizing he was being filmed by James, his demeanor suddenly shifted. He turned to stare at James, before ominously marching towards him. The video ended with the neighbor climbing the fence and James lowering the camera and running off toward his house. I know nothing of James’ neighbor or yard situation in real life, so on a scale of 1 to 10, how prophetic would you say this dream is?

The only experience I've had similar to the flashbang would be when an electricity junction box on the street blew up a couple of miles away from me when I was walking on a hill at night, I was looking directly at it and it looked like someone was shining a bright torch about 10 feet in front of me.

Just in case anyone's wondering, you really should have your handbrake on at stop lights AND your foot on the brake, that way (as Alex said) if you get hit from behind and you foot lifts off the brake pedal you won't go flying into the car in front. Use both! Also not using a handbrake for hill starts is going to decimate your clutch, you know James' car stinks of clutch ^^
@casa-35 Жыл бұрын
If you don't hold it on the bite for too long it'll be fine, I've done it so much that my timing is perfect with minimal clutch use. So isn't much different than a standard pull away. Haven't had to replace a clutch yet so doing something right lol

Meteors don't have to be big to make a lot of light, depending on what they're made up of they could match the luminosity of the sun if they're going fast enough through the thick atmosphere, and they'd burn up enough to leave no traces.

@omni- Жыл бұрын
Yup that's what i thought too. It being above them explains the light seeming to be everywhere, meteors make no sound when burning out and it is very sudden. It's of course unlikely that nobody else saw it but not impossible. I think it's the most reasonable explanation, since the only thing against it is that they haven't seen anyone else talk about it.
