'sexual relations'(?) You mean 'rape'(?) A slave has no choice, by definition that is ----. Um, the Bible says SHE should be scourged ~in the KJV, the newer translations White-washed this (yes, pun intended). It doesn't include the man. If a man is going to rape a woman, do you think he gives one rat's dropping about the repercussions given to his rape victim? Your explanation is a total dodge. I come to this channel for explanations of the horrid crud I'm reading in my read-through-the-Bible-in-a-year. You people are dodging and giving lame excuses for everything. @@JaneDoe12573 you’re reading more into it than what is there and only assuming she was raped. That isn’t stated in the passage. The law covered instances of rape in Deuteronomy 22:23-27, where the woman is given the benefit of the doubt over the man.

@@JaneDoe12573 Hi I totally understand your frustration but in the culture of the middle East at that time it was common to use slaves for sexual pleasure. However it does say that both should be scourged not just the woman. Sometimes we need to look deeper into the Scriptures as I am sure if a woman did not consent and she was engaged to be married the future husband, also probably a slave would also be greatly hurt. Sexual sin is serious even today and it is the one sin where everyone gets hurt. I also think you should be very careful about saying you are more moral than God, we need to be careful what we speak out as we will have to give and account for every word we speak. All through the ages powerful men have taken advantage of young girls and boys including today with the massive trade in sex slaves worldwide. These people will be held accountable before a righteous and Holy God and they should not sleep well in their beds knowing their future!
