Big cities are dominated by policy (small towns are more impacted by individuals). So when a policy has a problem cities are gonna be where it is felt first. (Making good/great policy is also absurdly difficult)

Assuming the white queen cannot give a check, the idea was probably after b e2, rook takes queen, rook takes rook and black has a knight and a rook for a queen, which isn't that bad, still many winning chances

I kinda see it now. Black queen is trapped. But my thought was, queen takes knight, rook takes queen back, black trades rook with check and white has to take with queen, and black can safely take rook with bishop. If white trades rook before taking queen back then black king can run away for a bit

Man, I lived in NYC for a year and it was nothing like what you described. I got mean mugged every other time I rode the subway, a guy tried to mug me, people were generally assholes, and it was covered in needles and trash.

Tbf he didn't say it was all sunshine and rainbows, he constantly talks about not talking to crazy people in the streets and stuff, he's only mentioned the fact that it all gets amplified when you have soooo many people living in a close proximity to each other. NYC is just so huge that (I imagine) it's a lot harder to deal with stuff and also 'once in a lifetime' events happen a lot more often than in a city with 100k people
