Cracking interview mate, Le God is my favourite (non Man United) player of all time. Growing up as a 90s kid I was mesmerised by how class he was yet playing for Southampton - which in hindsight added to his mystique... Agree with most of his political views also - Matt, you're a legend!

Firstly, a great interview. Whilst I can kind of understand why you used the Millwall game for taking the knee because of the booing, I would like to point out that my beloved club only did it a couple of times before pushing back on authorities by refusing to recognise BLM and instead insisting on having banners of “kick out racism” instead of taking the knee. As usual we got ridiculed by the press and authorities but the fans won over. Normal working class people who are football fans simply saying “keep a fraudulent political narrative out of sport”. Of course the racism card was dealt at each and everyone of us and the club but we stood firm when others continued to wear the armbands and take the knee. As one of good friends at Millwall once said “I’ve only ever taken the knee once and thankfully she said yes”.
