Hey Dr. B, I'm watching your content to prepare for my chemistry exam and have a question about drawing Lewis structures. Can the Lewis structure for the Ozone molecule (O3) be represented as O=O=O with double bonds on each side? 7:20 To other students seeing this comment: Please ignore the valence electrons that are not explicitly shown, as I am unable to type them on my keyboard. This video is amazingly informative on Lewis structures. Thank u😊👍🏻👍🏻. So as a general rule should you always look at formal charges for any molecule that has an element in period 3 or below?? I would normally think the Lewis structure would have been the correct one for sulfate and phosphate ions and would not have thought to move on to double bonds on one side of the central atom. 🤔🤔🤔

Does it matter where we place the hydrogen when we draw the lewis structure? Like can we put two on the side and one on top, or two on the side and one on the bottom? Like as long as we have three hydrogens, is that okay? Thanks
