I really hope Lewis started trying to read what the technologies do when Spiff said there are game winning ones out there. He could research hotelsso quickly which would be huge. Not sure why they're not attacking him instead of just building more culture buildings. With the bonuses tourism gets building culture buildings is more of a way to slow the victory, destroying the capital is the best way to stop it. Also, Duncan being honour means that he gains loads of culture in a war of attrition, meaning that he can make the others fall further and further behind in tourism

it's good to see lewis back in his element, there was a time when he managed to fight a 3v1 and still win but he just gradually got worse and worse at the game and was constantly complaining at everything to the point i suspected he was purposely being bad. though alot of this was civ 6

Watching Spiff embargo himself was one of the most frustrating things I've seen in a game of Civ. The others made a massive mistake in not attacking Lewis when they had the chance. As Lewis pointed out, Duncan should have captured Bangkok earlier in the game. That would have at least extended the frontier and stretched out Lewis' army. Now, Lewis is so far ahead in technology that invading his lands is almost impossible.

Such a classic civ 5 game, Rythian just city building by himself, Spiff shouting on deaf ears about how strong Lewis is while doing nothing himself, Duncan throwing Spiff under the bus when war actually starts and going for science despite being honor/military and handing Lewis the win on a silver platter. He had enough of an army to possibly hold Lewis off for a while but gave up before even trying because he thinks letting Lewis win unopposed is different to losing a war.

26:40, Spiff is doing an air sweep thinking it will defend against bombers. You will need to do interception for that, then it will shoot down enemy bombers that come close. Air sweep is only there to defend against other encounters. But Lewis does not have any fighter plane, only bombers so you easily shoot them down.

Alright, I am more than willing to admit I was wrong. Earlier in the series I was convinced Spiff was going to win and was masterfully playing all the others against each other. I also said some disparaging things about Lewis' playstyle. I no longer think Spiff is going to win and obviously I should step back and not try to backseat game Lewis so much, because he clearly knows more than I do here lmao.

Tourism 'rising slowly' means his overall tourism (how much he has made in the entire game so far)as a percentage of your overall culture is rising. This will occur if his tourism per turn is lower than your culture per turn but higher as a percentage than the overall percentage value. If his tourism is higher than your culture it will show as simply 'rising' and give you an estimated time before his total tourism overtakes your total culture when you hover over the word 'rising'.

17:00 spiff messaging Duncan that Lewis is ahead because of spies as diplomats. Unless lek mod changes diplomats (someone correct me if I'm wrong) they won't do anything unless the diplomat is being sent another civ that has a different ideology. also, Duncan is confused on why the trend in the culture screen says Lewis is still rising slowly despite Duncan having higher culture per turn compared to Lewis' tourism. The reason why is the trends check if the percentage of total tourism over total culture is increasing or not. For example, if a player making no tourism starts making 2 tourism next turn, the culture screen will say he is rising on every player since 2 tourism over the other players total culture is a bigger percentage than 0 tourism over total culture. TBH the trends metric is something you really don't have to bother thinking about.
