I appreciate your concluding remarks, Lewis-not being critical of “making pictures,” but showing your process of mark making, enjoying being out there, reSPONDING to what you see--I love it so. Thanks for encouraging such freedom!

Of course. All painting is great. Just do the kind of work you want to see.

The goal for me is to enjoy the experience of painting outside.

Thank you lewis, this so resonates with me. Just spent a few days on Jura, short snatches to sketch whilst out walking on the hill with friends. Also the use of an art studio overlooking the sea, which I retreated to on the wet afternoon. Felt like huge pressure to produce something. What a great reminder to enjoy the process and the feeling of the place.

Thanks Lewis. I totally agree with you. It helps a little if you carry some paints, paper, brushes or whatever, but the most important thing is the "right" attitude: Have fun in the process of drawing or painting and the rest will follow by osmosis or something...

What sage advice. Thank you Lewis. To be there, in the moment, letting the feeling of the place bubble up through your hands into your art without thought of a finished work. I felt as if I were there. Thank you for sharing your lovely Greek holiday.

I think its wonderful to not put ourselves under so much pressure in pursuit of perfection. I love how you work, its so liberating. Ive done it too to try and get it all so perfect. In my opinion not trying to make great art is so much more fun and usually turns out great. Thanks Lewis in reminding us we dk not have to get it perfect. Hope you enjoyed yr Greek holiday. Sorry ive waffled on. 😎💥👍

Of course! So important to enjoy the experience rather than pressure yourself. Who needs that in their life?

How did you get those wet papers back to you room? My acrylics get stuck together with out a carry box of some kind.

I just sat them in the sun for a few minutes! If it’s cold or wet I usually just do my best to keep them separate and lay them out in the car if I’m out and about. Thanks for watching
