Thank you for this analysis. The 440 has the edge, and not just over the Rode NT1 according to other artists. Cheers

Hello John... Great explanation with comparisons on mics. Thx, enjoyed👍Like lower register on your voice, if this is of any value. Agree on your mic choice.

Hi! I have a relatively high voice and I'm thinking about taking either a Rode NT-1 or Lewitt LCT-440 Pure. I like that Rode has a pretty flat frequency response profile and very low self-noise, but at the same time lewitt is a very good mic too. However, as far as I know, Rode's mic has some problems with badly treated rooms, which I has, so I'm in debate with myself. Could you please express your opinion? I would be very grateful!

Soo I'm no professional but being you are saying you have a high voice I'd go with the nt1 and I'd try to find a 4th generation nt1. If you haven't noticed the newer ones don't sound as neutral and a bit brighter on the high end. I myself use a untreated room for all my reviews. Hope this helps. Thanks

@@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan Thank you very much! I have indeed noticed, that the 5th gen Rode NT-1 mics are a bit brighter on the high end. And again, thank you very much, the review was absolutely great! Please keep creating more content!😊

i'm a baritone (E2-C5), trying to get a get a VO rig going to try get some voicework to complement acting income, but i also want to use my mic for recording acoustic guitar, accordion, cello, bouzouki and baglama (very bright high pitched stringed instrument). hesitating between 440 and nt1 (signature cos no use for usb-c and 32bit flow). nt1 is cheaper and seems the safer bet, but i feel like my low voice would be better served with 440. my only concern is accordion top notes and baglama being too much with the high-end boosting. what are your thoughts?
@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan9 ай бұрын
So if you don't have an EQ to use which I would recommend I would go with a 4th generation nt1 like in this video it's more neutral and the mids are definitely smoother. The newer generations don't sound the same. I noticed right away and others have talked about it. They are both great mics but you need to get the one that better fits your needs. If I could not EQ the 440 it would be to sibilant for me. Hope this helps.

@@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan which would you say is better at room rejection? i've heard the 440 handles this better. i often have to work in environments that aren't treated, especially with instruments
@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan9 ай бұрын
@RunningRugby4 both are condenser mics so rejection isn't there strong point in comparison to a dynamic mic but yes the 440 does a surprisingly good job. I myself am in a completely untreated room if that helps.

Should I use UA Volt's vintage mode with LCT 440? Wouldn't it make my vocals too bright/airy?
@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan2 ай бұрын
Since everybody's voice is different. The best advice is to test it and see how it sounds. If it gives you to much spibilance just take it off.
@pierdolsieszmato.2 ай бұрын
@@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan yeah that's what I thought but I really want to use the vintage feature as that's the reason I bought UA Volt over other audio interfaces in this price range. But now I wonder which mic costing ~$300 would suit me the best :D

The 5th gen nt1 definitely sounds different. Sounds like it got a boost in the high end. Honestly they are both great mics. I own both for that reason. Unless you heard both on your voice it would be hard to say. If I didn't have the ability to EQ at all I might go with the more neutral sounding mic the NT1 even better if you can find a 4th gen.

Is it possible to connect the microphone with Mac book air ?
@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan10 ай бұрын
This is a xlr mic..so you need a audio interface to connect this to. Then you connect from your Mac to the interface via usb...an example of a interface would be a focusrite scarlett solo. How this helps

Hi 440 pure or nt1a bro??
@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan Жыл бұрын
So mics and how they sound on a picticular voice is very subjective. I would say both mics are very good and have a low noise floor. When I use the 440 I EQ so my highs aren't so sharp. I personally like the how smooth I sound in the mids on the nt1. I say both are winners and with some EQ BOTH can sound very close. Ohhhh and looks wise the 440 takes the cake.

Although English is very nice to microphones as sibilants are usually ok even with some harsh microphones, Lewitt is on the edge of being too sharp and too harsh. If tested with some other languages it would become unbearable very fast even if the singer knows how to control the sibilants.
@CoffeeTalkandTechJohnRyan Жыл бұрын
I would agree with that statement. I myself have to use a de esser. I would also EQ the top end down a bit. Thanks for watching.
