I always loved the early seasons when Clark and Lex were friends. It would've gone so much better if Clark had just been more honest and less hypocritical, then Lex wouldn't have become the comic book villain (or he would've gotten there a different way - without Clark bearing some of the blame). Lex tried so hard to be a good guy in the beginning, but everyone he cared about treated him like crap, including Clark. It's no wonder he ended up where he did. I wish they had written it differently so that he and Clark stayed good friends a bit longer, only for him to become a villain a different way. It would've been better writing.

Well I agree and disagree at the same time ^^ First of all I would not call Clark a hypocrite. The issue was that Clark wasn't capable of put himself into Lex shoes. He didn't understood why Lex was the man he was. He couldn't understand that you're not the complete good guy with a past like Lex had. Lex did lot mistakes too, but I agree he would be different if Clark would've reached him his hand. He did it in some way, but every time when he saw that Lex wasn't as good as Clark wanted him to be, or anything like this, he pushed him away again. I would not say that Lex tried to be a good guy at the beginning, but he tried to be a better man than his father. Yes Clark did damage to Lex too, there is no doubt in that, but Lionel had a huge influence on his psyche too. To be honest, I'm not sure if Lex wouldn't turned evil one day, if Clark would be there for him. Cuz to see it with a realistic eye, one single person can't keep you from falling into darkness. And the darkness was already inside of Lex before he even met Clark. Cuz way too much things happened in his past. You need more for that to fix this, than one single man.

I started this video in February 2018 and decided to finish it. That's one reason why this video is really basic. The second reason is, that I had really big issues with my pc. It took me 2 weeks to find out what's wrong with it. But I hope you will like it =) Have a nice weekend =)

Great video! I've watched it a few times now. This line from the show bothers me: "They would have felt the same way about you if you had just tried!" Lex spent the first few seasons trying to be a good person, especially to Clark's parents who he wanted to impress. Jonathan never felt like he was a son to be proud of, regardless. (Also, what an awful thing to say to someone who was abused by their dad.)

Well yes, Lex did tried. Clark said a lot things in this series that were... well difficult or whatever... Clark never really understood, that Lex had a life before him, before he met Clark. And that Lex already was an adult. Things effect you different than. You can't change so fast and so easy, even if you're trying. That's something Clark never understood.

This friendship was one of the best a the start, but Clark was no honest with Lex, the only person he was conting on was him, beacuse his father was terrible and other people dint belive in him, then Clark hide the true. In that episode that Lex is paranoid and knows Clarks true, he keeps the secret. Clark knew in that moment he could trust in Lex, but when Lionel got Lex mind mess up, Clark just decided to keep the secret again, even when he knew he could trust Lex.
