LEX SHREDS BMX IN CANADA WITH NHL STAR GEORGES LARAQUE! Hosts Interview their Moms-

In Episode 9 of The Preem Show, Lex Albrecht shows off her BMX skills at a pump track in Bromont, Quebec near the home of the old Velodrome. But first, Lex stops for some beef jerky at Pittstop Velo-Cafe for some delicious eats and makes a round at the Centre National de Cyclisme de Bromont, a cycling center for bike lovers of all disciplines. Quebec's own, Georges Laraque, is an ex NHL hockey pro who is now a sports commentator and public speaker. Not only is he great on the ice, Georges is an amazing person off the ice, with his continuous involvement in the Quebec community and impact towards charitable causes.

Lex raced professionally since 2012 and represented Canada at 4 World Championships. Originally from Montréal, Lex speaks English and French, has a background in Medical Biology, a PhD in coffee (you'll see), and rides motorcycles for fun.

This episode just warms my heart. My first bike was a bmx and i only rode bmx bikes into my early 20s. Even taught riding at a summer camp for two years. I played street hockey in junior high too. Thank you for this episode.

Best gravel tip I know is to pay attention to your line. On a lot of these roads there might only be a narrow strip that's free of loose gravel. Typically the crown of the road is the best spot, but not always. If you get caught out of the good line, especially on a curve, you will get dropped like a rock.

Lex, you should go to the Victoriaville region to discover the gravel bike. This year Victoriaville will host a stage of the UCI Gran Fondo series and Canadian Master championship. It is in the Appalachians with breathtaking landscapes and quiet roads, a must to discover.

Can we get updates about the velodrome? I moved and it is the nearest one to me, but the border is closed. I didn't even know they tore it down last fall.

Great episode, but I am wondering about the new velodrome, if they put a pump track in the middle, where will the track riders set up for be events? Usually the infield is used for that. Other thing was what is 'Asian' flavored jerkey, would that be like teriyaki flavored?

Good questions! I didn't ask about the jerkey. They told me it was their Asian flavour and it was delcious, so I didn't ask any thing ;). I'm curious to see how the track will be set up too! most velodromes that I have seen have a HUGE infield with enough space for sports fields and spots to set up :). It'll be a exciting when it's built!

Thanks for responding! Whatever that jerky flavor was, it looked good! We just lost access to our velodrome (Alpenrose, Portland Oregon) so I am happy to see a 'drome being built. I know at Alpenrose and Marymount in Seattle, and OTC that the infield is just for ppl riding and racing the track, no other things in the infield. I do want to see how that new track looks when it's all done...hint hint, you and Laraque riding it. :-)
