Good tip. I would have thought the Mothers stuff would be too coarse, but not so. I use the Novus red stuff to polish my pinball machine playfields and it does a remarkable job. Now that the windshield is crystal clear, your RTs at the track should be great.

Gonna do the same on my poly windshield on my racecar. We're racing at night and the clarity is super important.

Thank you for the video! Glad to see even if Lexan can't be brought back to perfectly brand new looking, you can get damn close!

Going to give mothers a try, i just spent too many hours on a sxs windshield and it still terrible. Wet sanded from 800 to 3k and 3 stage buffing and its super cloudy, just dont think the compund i used had enough "grit", just blows my mind it was really cleaing up at 3k grit.

This Novus has no abrasives, (just went to the link) how can it remove scratches and what's its chemical composition? Some sort of polish/wax

Can’t answer that. I just know it’s a popular product for polishing plastics. Cheers

creating a scratch is NOT like the effect of weathering which causes sub-surface crazing that causes haze. Take real-world weathered lexan and fix that and you will know something! Thanks for trying. Ok it seems your treatment worked. I use an orbital sander with a microfiber cloth over the sanding pad.

Agree! UV damaged/clouded windows will just need to be replaced. I was going after surface scratches.

@@digitaloverdrivesystems Thanks for the comment. This is pretty sad because i've only had the windows in place a little over one year. Sun seems to destroy them pretty quickly. I think I'll never purchase polycarbonate again.. Acrylic seems much preferable.

@@douglundy5755 we just purchased square Lexan panels for between our handrail framing, I was using dish soap and a microfiber...granted the adhesive paper that came on the Lexan left behind some goobers and just using the microfiber and dish soap left hairline scratches. I'm thinking that perhaps Lexan is like any new clear material - it'll never be as smooth and clear as the first day its bought. Couldn't believe that I was able to scratch it with a microfiber...maybe my clothes are shitty lol

Just to continue I found that wet sanding finally removed the craziness and I was able to polish the lexan back to a nice clear finish then polished with wax
