First off,I am sooo glad the orange kitty is out of the cold. The right thing was done for him as he has a great chance of finding a forever home. Everyone has their own opinion, but Lex and Claudia didn't have an easy time making this decision either. God bless you both for all you did for the little guy/gal. I surly pray that this precious cat that is going to a Rescue Center is able to be adopted out because usually a cat gets euthanized because they don’t have a chance to be taken care of and then euthanized. Yes, it often takes time. It is typical that cats outside of their territory will prefer space until they acclimate to those who have already “claimed” it. It took my two girls (who both came from outside (same neighborhood) and joined my home about 6 months apart) a full 6 months before they interacted and several months more before they bonded,. They have been bonded for several years now. This precious orange kitty will likely be frightened, at first, no matter who he is rehomed with🙏🐈🙏It is part of their nature… a way of protecting themselves until they feel at home in the new territory. All my love and prayers to this precious, precious kitty!! 🙏❤️🐈🙏❤️🐈I pray we will get a very happy update soon!! 🙏❤️🐈🥰✨🙏

They wouldn't have bonded anyway while Orange lived on the porch and Cin inside, they needed to share the same space in order to bond. I'm writing this in case Lex doesn't know. When adult cats first meet each other they always fight(pawing at each other) and gets anxious , aggressive around each other for quite some time before they get used to each other. It takes a bit of time , in some cases takes more than a couple of months. (of course it's safer and faster if they are both neutered.) Unless they are hurting each other by biting or being very aggressive(making growling noises constantly & attacking) it might be worth while to keep them around and see if they get better. Most times they do learn to get along and become friends. I know Lex would do whats best for the cats. Hope the best for Cinnabon & that cute orange cat !

This cat had been around for some time now and Cinnabon would attack him as recently as yesterday. It was a source of great stress for him, so action had to be taken. Neither of us were interested in adding him or her as a member of the family anyways so it wouldn't make any sense to force that.

@@leatherandlace7 I wish I knew. I was texting the previous owner to get all the info, and telling her I was going to find a new home. I made a comment that she deserved the best, and she vehemently agreed with me, although she kicked her out on the street, where we have coyotes, and other predators. Sophie is an indoor only kitty, with a sister kitty, and a pup. She is so spoiled, it makes my heart happy. I wish all cats were as loved as Cinnabon and Sophie are.

I rescue and foster in CA and follow your channel. I applaud your heart for making Cinnabon part of your family. I truly wish you would reach out to a rescue. Shelters do NOT vet adopters. This beautiful cat could end up with a fly by night owner and find himself unloved and abandoned again. Given your YT platform, use that to reach put to a rescue. The cat was in good shape, and would PROBABLY need vaccinations and neutering. A small rescue could raise funds easily (I do it all the time), AND you could give that rescue org some great YT P.R. A rescue grp will vet the adopter and often the home. Everybody feels GOOD with a true rescue. Not so much when a shelter is involved. There are amazing shelters everywhere (Kentucky Humane Society - best around!), but they're very rare. Hopefully your shelter does great adoption campaigns, provides clean, homey living conditions. Just before Christmas we found a tuxedo kitten hanging around our house. We were able to catch her and take her to the spca. She was adopted within a week because she was very friendly. We would have loved to have kept her but we already have 3 kitties and 3 is our limit.

I have been feeding three cat colonies that consist of about 65 cats for the last year. About three months ago with help I got them all trapped and spayed and neutered. About 15 of them got adopted the rest were released back where I found them and I feed them every day. Do you know the crisis this country is going through? High gas prices, high food prices, inflation. We don’t know if those places are struggling to get the funds to continue their operations.

I think people are concerned because no kill shelters kill animals sometimes, and he may have to live in a cage for a long time, but you did the best you could short of adopting him yourself (which you couldn't do for valid reasons). I'm sure you also found a shelter with a good reputation that is less likely to kill them. We're all just sad to see him go, and some people get judgemental when sad. You were kinder to him than most would be. If you could kindly ask the shelter for updates, it would give many of us peace. Thank you for all you do ❤️.

Hey Lex &Cinnabon , It was very respectful for you to help that stray the way you did . You know you did the best for him that you could and better for him to be a little stressed in a cage for a short time than to suffer out freezing winter temperatures . He did not look under fed or dehydrated in the earlier videos I watched so I don't believe that he had been out wandering for to long . That stray you took to the no kill shelter looked a lot like a cat I rescued.... me and my mom named that cat Ginger . This was a great video and I look forward to many more adventures with Cinnabon at home or anywhere . Thank you

Some cats really do better as solos tbh so don't ever feel pressured to get a second cat. Thank you for taking care of this sweetie and doing what you can to help it. I'm sure it will eventually find the purrfect forever home.

That kitty was such a joy and pleasure to have around and you & Cinnabon did such a wonderful job taking care of him. I know it won’t take long before he’ll find his forever home and be in a happy, healthy home. where he’ll be forever loved . He’s forever grateful for all of the care and love you have shown him even though Cinnabon didn’t get along with him but that’s normal. Poor kitty, you can tell he/she's looking for some love. Cats don't usually get along at 1st if they haven't grown up together, that's normal. They are territorial and usually just need time to get to know each other like any human. Prayers orange tabby finds a loving family and always be happy safe and healthy. ❤️ 💜 💖 💕😍🥰😘

Same here. I'm surprised at this decision. I had two cats who couldn't stand each other and then eventually warmed up to each other and became buddies. It just takes a little time and reinforcement.

How is it sad? These comments are baffling me. The cat is going to a no-kill shelter and it seems like a nice cat, so it will most likely find a loving forever home. Cinnabon isnt getting along with the vat and is stressed by it. Lex gave it a try but saw no progress and decided that adopting this cat wasnt the best idea. He doesnt want his cat stressed, and thats 100% valid. Hes been feeding this cat, he finally put straw in its house, and he went out of his way to trap it and bring it where it can get him a good home-and y'all are acting like Lex is doing something wrong? Youre acting like he just watched the cat suffer & refused to feed or help it-just bc he doesnt want to adopt it himself, and even tho HES GETTING THE CAT A GOOD HOME BY WHAT HE'S DOING. Y'all are weird.

I can't adopt every animal that comes our way, plus, Cinnabon clearly didn't like him, and it was a significant cause of stress in his life. We did the best thing for him. Even after the first day, Cinnabon's mood has improved significantly. He has his deck and woods back.

Thank you for getting him on the path to a forever home. Even if he were semi-feral or feral, there are rehoming options available on rural properties (as working barn/outbuilding cats, warehouse cats, etc). I hope he's taking over someone's warm laptop or hogging his human's bed as I type this.
