Momento Mori. Remember that one day you will be gone. Otherwise we'd waste eternity watching KZbin videos. After you discover the endless virtual, pharmaceutical and philosophical distractions don't work, you arrive at a place of acceptance. Nobody asked to be born into this third dimensional meat suit of pain. Find a way to make sense of your brief existence, help alleviate some suffering along the way and sing the song that's in your heart. I wouldn't waste another minute worrying about it. Remember your Zen training. The Samurai must die.

I feel so differently about this topic. My dad just died a couple of months ago. I'll miss him but I don't think about him most days. I've got better things to do with my time. I have my own life to live. If there is no "spiritual" existence after death then he doesn't care (because he doesn't exist anymore) and I don't care so much it's changing my life in any real way. I just don't see the problem. People obsessed with living forever or even for a super long time don't make sense to me. The 80+ year old's that I know have terrible lives by most standards. Some have ok lives... but they aren't as good as when they were younger that's for sure. I can still enjoy their company but their day to day life is mostly terrible, if we're honest. My wife works in an old folks home and loves to take care of people at that stage of their lives. She works to make their lives as good as they can be. I'd rather be dead than live like them. The actual age limit will go up with advances in health care and science but there comes a point when death is a relief. That's how I see it anyway. I do feel totally differently about death when it comes to young, healthy people. It's hard to think of something more painful than if one of my kids died prematurely but old age is just a different situation. At 51, I've already had an amazing life and I hope it continues for a while longer but I'm not worried about it ending... and I bet I think about it more than the average person too. Just live the best life you can and choose to be happy and that's honestly enough, I think. Hoping to live forever sounds crazy to me. Trying to stay healthy as long as you can seems like a good idea but not so you can live longer... so you can live better.

@@chubbydong142 Yes we do! Have you not studied anything in your lifetime to do with the brain? Once the brain does not operate you can’t think anymore and you aren’t aware of anything. This is easily provable! How? Traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumors, dementia, Alzheimer’s… all render parts of the brain ineffective, and in many cases, wipe the neurological pathways, neurons and synapses of their memory. You do realize you aren’t you without your memory, correct? Your denial is obvious. Unfortunately, your ego has taken over along with cognitive dissonance. You probably still think you have an everlasting soul that’s separate from your body, it’s not! This mythical soul that has been spoken about by early humans who weren’t as intelligent as the average fourth grader today just never connected that it’s their brain that they were talking about. Death will be exactly like your experience before your birth, a void of nothingness!!

@@chubbydong142 You do know that the body stays in this physical world. The brain shuts off and loses its main functions in 3 - 6 minutes after the heart stops beating and the person stops breathing. Degradation of the body is unavoidable and a lot of people end up creating a sense of self-driven guilt later in life for not being more active in their earlier years. People can clone the same person by using their dna. But a clone will just be a clone/copy. They will not be the same person. Which raises a question do we all have souls and not just a physical body while we're here. If we all have souls perhaps there is an after life.
@augustmoon00042 жыл бұрын
Absolutely no! People do not have souls! This is magical thinking from early humans who just weren’t aware of our natural world and conjured magical thinking to support their hopes and desires, exactly the denial of death! In reality, the brain is our functioning organ that creates our self and in our memories, and once that loses oxygen and dies, so do we. There is no eternal memories without your brain!

I’ve been obsessed with death since I could talk being an over thinker extraordinarie🤦🏻♂️ If you look at the spectrum of humanity from Jung in Western psychology through to cult leaders and ‘nutters’ on the fringes of societal function, funnily enough All are in agreement and All have an understanding, respect and knowledge of the existence of energy and resonance after our format metamorphosis labelled death. Ancient civilisations and societies since day dot worshipped and respected the dead, yet here We are the ones claiming absolute arrogant denial of that which can never be proven in the absolute. It’s only the arrogance of aspects of science that says ‘Prove it’ and thus falls flat in an existence where faith and belief are actually medium of operational cosmic dialogue.....and by definition death appears close to Magic thus is the opposing force of scientific knowledge due to everything that Cannot be known having to exist somewhere. Death is a blending aspect of this unknowable yet always felt transitional force between two worlds 🤷🏻♂️ Suffering is what’s scary, not death per se 🙏🏻

Folks no one ever really ever dies. At one point we will all meet with God and spend eternity with Him or without Him We're a fallen people deserving due consequences of our sin. BUT the VERY good news is He gives the gift of life for free! If we believe in Him and that Christ died for us and repent of our sins Christs righteousness is imputed onto us! We'll be reconciled with God! God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked (Ezekiel 33:11) rather, Christ came so that we can have life, and life in ABUNDANCE! (John 10:10)

If you are an adult in the 21st-century and still believe in an invisible sky fairy, I feel really sorry for you! The only reason you believe in Christianity is because you were taught it while you were young. If you were born in the Middle East and your parents were Muslim, you would be too! Think about that! Why is your God any more real than the thousands upon thousands of other gods? Really examine that! Because a book says so? There are plenty of books and writings that say their gods are real too. So no, that’s not the answer! Have any valid proof for the existence of any god? Don’t bother answering, you don’t!
