Lexi, so sorry you have been under the weather. I hope you are feeling better soon. As for your reviews, they were excellent. I have come to the conclusion that CdP really does have the best foundation (at least for me, including the accessibility and in-person color selections.) Having said that, I also like KGD. Both the Moisture Foundation and the Aqua Foundation. I am curious what your opinion is regarding the difference between the two KGD wet foundations. I would like to try the Suquu foundation at some point, but I will do so in person in London when I am there next. I remember a quote from Sylvie Chantecaille regarding the quality of cosmetic products. She said that the Swiss made the best skincare, the Japanese made the best foundations and the Italians made the best makeup products. I think Germans tend to make some of the really great pencil products. And, of course the Japanese make the finest brushes. Get some proper rest and drink lots of fluid!!

Thank you! I remember that quote too and I have to say that I agree with it. As for the Koh Gen Do foundations, I love both of them. The aqua reminds me of the Suqqu liquid foundation - more of a radiant natural finish with more buildable coverage. The moisture looks more skin-like and is more of a my skin but better kind of look so it doesn't look like there is makeup. It provides coverage and perfects the skin without looking like makeup imo. I know I have an older video where I disucssed both of them but I have to say they are both favorites of mine. The moisture is a go-to during colder months for me and the aqua is one I reach for during the warmer months. If I had to pick just one though, it's the moisture. I have completely used that up to the last drop and I rarely fully finish a foundation.

I love these comparisons, I’m just nerding out on all of it. I’ve noticed you wear a brighter shade lately which I like. I go a shade lighter like this, and then it oxidizes to match while still being a bit brighter. The oxidizing isn’t just the product, it’s the foundation reacting to skin care, sunscreen and natural oils too. The Chanel counter always tries to use a shade match, and I ask them to go up a shade, they are skeptical but I’m like, “give it an hour, you’ll see.” Anyway, what foundation do you hav on today in this video? It’s not in the list of what you are wearing.

I have the Cle de Peau in the previous formula…and lots of it. The hot, humid, and long summer plus oily skin wasn’t a happy combination for The Foundation, which became very shiny quickly. We’ve had slightly cooler and less humid weather, as well as more combination skin for me, which yielded better results. I plan to use the CdP more this winter to see how it performs before I leap into purchasing the new formula. In contrast, the Chantecaille Future Skin performed beautifully in the hotter weather in terms of longevity and a feeling of weightlessness on my skin. Like you, I prefer the CdP matte and radiant formulas in bottles, even over The Foundation. They’re not as sheer, but really pretty on the skin. Great review with being under the weather and all! You gave quality data and information on these foundations. I've tried other foundations this past year, but I'm going back to CDP. Nothing surpasses and my skin isn't looking like it had.

I only have the Guerlain Essential which I really like. It makes it hard for shade matching if it’s not here in the US. But it look like it blends really smooth and I like that you combined it with other foundations with no problem. I just saw on Sephora there’s a new YSL foundation. I can’t keep up 😆. Feel better! What beautiful foundations! I have to avoid Cle de Peau because of octinoxate allergy, but it is fabulous on you …my favorite of these, I think. For now I have Chantecaille Future Skin, Chantecaille Cushion, Chanel Water Fresh Tint, and my favorite Sisley Tinted Moisturizer. If I can use up these, I’d love to try the Koh Gen Do next. My skin has been so fussy lately. I’m trying a spot treatment with salicylic neutralizing gel. I’m sorry to hear you’re under the weather, but I wouldn’t have known without hearing your voice. Thank you so much! I think you may really like the KGD foundations because they are great for sensitive skin and really stay away from a lot of problematic ingrediencts. I'm waiting for their next sale to buy another moisture foundation and their new brush. They have 25% off a few times a year so definitely don't pay full price!

Hi Lexi, could you please compare the Guerlain parure gold radiance foundation, Lancôme teint idole care & glow and the Cle de Peau cushion foundation? Are they comparable? How is the coverage, longevity and which foundation is the most natural? Thank you, you’re the best ❤

I no longer have the parure gold as I gave my Guerlain to my cousin who is more fair than I am and I don't have the Lancome. From my recollection, the Guerlain was a bit glowier than the CdP cushion and the CdP has a bit more coverage. Both lasted well all day. As for which is more natural, I think it just depends on your skin's moisture level and how much radiance you want. They are both a dewy finish but the Guerlain has a bit more radiance.

Yes, the terracotta ones have the terracotta fragrance but other foundations have a different fragrance.

As I'm unable to obtain a sample of this foundation for shade selection, Im giving it a miss. It looks lovely on you Lexi. By the way, I managed to order some items from the Suqqu holiday collection earlier today. I thought they weren't being released until the 10th Nov. However, I thought I'd check the Selfridge site this morning and there they were., including the new powders. Look after youself. Your throat sounds very sore.

I have tried the Guerlain powder if that is the one you are referring to. It's ok. It runs warm and is a bit drier looking on the skin than I prefer. It's very similar to the Dior. The suqqu powder foundation is still the best formula in my opinion as it really melts into your skin but they don't have the best shade range.

Hi Lexi, It’s always such a pleasure to hear your in depth reviews; thank you. You are so knowledgeable and have a very sophisticated observation and sharp eye. I have to say I absolutely love the new CDP foundation on you! Imo the Guerlain foundations were actually the correct hue for you (pink) but perhaps a tad bit too bright (white cast) but not in a major way (when blended). Furthermore, the consistency of the new CDP looks terrific; sort of like a lacquer or very thin varnish. Perhaps the price tag is a tad bit hefty for a foundation, to say the least, however taking the added skin care benefits into consideration, you get what you pay for. Sorry to hear that you are feeling under the weather. I hope that you have a relaxing and restful weekend and that you are back to feeling wonderful again really soon. xo

Thank you Lina! I don't usually take vitamins. I am just one of those people that like having something to do so I do a lot of multitasking. I'm glad it looks like I have a lot of energy but in reality, I don't. I am fairly scheduled which helps me get everything done.

Hi Lexi, is the Surrat Dew Drop Foundation in the similar category as the Cle De Peau ? I find the Cle De Peau too expensive, but I’m looking for something similar to these type of foundations. I saw in one of your vids that you also like Surrat.

I know a lot of people love the Surratt dew drop but for me it is nice but not a favorite. It can be a bit dry looking on me at times. Keep in mind the Surratt foundation is only 19 ml vs. the average 30 ml. Another option that is more similar to the CdP is Koh Gen Do. They are also pretty expensive but they have sales periodically where you can get it 25 - 30% off so if you can wait, that's what I would do. Both the moisture and aqua formulas are great imo. This particular CdP foundation is most like Chanel Sublimage with the Koh Gen Do aqua being a worthwhile comparison. The Surratt Dew Drop makes me think more of the CdP radiant matte foundation than this version.

I have flakiness in my t-zone and have to find a foundation to make my face presentable on meetings at work. @@LexiJong hey Lexi! Sorry to bother, but wondering if the Cle de Peau radiant fluid foundation natural ( one in ten bottle) is similar to the CDP The Foundation? How are they different?

I find them to be pretty different. The CdP The Foundation feels more like a moussey skincare cream so and the coverage is more natural and a little lighter in coverage. The radiant foundation has more glow and is more of a serum style foundation so it is a thinner texture with a higher concentration of pigments allowing for fuller coverage. They are both gorgeous but The Foundation will look more like your skin, but better (still allowing some imperfections to show through so it isn't too perfect imo) while the radiant will give you more of a glowy, perfected look. I hope this helps!

Lexi, thank you for doing this great review. I wear ON1 in Guerlian Le Essential natural glow and wore ON1 in the Lingerie de Peau which is discontinued and was my favorite. Another beauty KZbinr said the Guerlain Parure Radiant version was close to Lingerie de Peau. I looked on line at Selfridges and cannot figure out from the swatch photo as what color to buy. They look darker online. Now they that you are saying they are lighter I am wondering if I should go up to the O1.5 shade. I saw someone use ON2, but I think that will be too dark. Do you have an advice based on the shade you bought? Thanks

Unfortunately I really am not sure based on what I bought. I think if I were to do it again, I would go one shade darker and try 0N so the 1.5 might work for you. Have you checked findation or any of those foundation matching sites? Last time I checked they didn't have the new one up yet but they might now.

@Lexi Jong I took the plunge and ordered the guerlain matte. You can't send opened products back in the UK, so hoping I got the right shade. I am 110 in haus labs and ordered 2N. I previously tried 1C and it was way too light

@@LexiJong So I tried the 2N. It wasn't too dark, but OMG I was bright yellow! Nearly as bad as the hourglass ambient foundation. That made me look like I had jaundice. Too bad they don't do a 2C shade, that would probably do nicely. So back to Cle De Peau and Haus labs for me

I don't have a good guerlain match so I choose the prada for that reason. I haven't used the guerlain in a long time to be sure of the formula comparisons but I think the prada still wins for coverage.

Feel better Lexi! I knew you’d like The Foundation once you played with it. I’ve also been used the CDP matte and radiant together lately. My fav at the moment though and is the TF Shade and illuminate Radiant. It’s such a pretty finish and looks great after all day wear. I try to rotate and even then I can’t use up a foundation. I rarely use more than a pump. XO
