I added a 125 scooter to my garage about 18 months ago and I can only agree with you. Massively convenient to use and huge fun. Unless I'm doing big miles the first set of keys I reach for are those of the scooter. I just love riding it.
@paulgeraghty45663 жыл бұрын
you are bang-on! - i'd say roughly 80-85% of all two wheelers here in the south of France are scooters , ok we get about 300 days of sunshine a year which makes riding enjoyable but scooters are just part of the culture here. Well done for not giving up on 60mph - that could still lose you your licence on many of the roads down here.

I have a 300cc SYM maxi scooter, which is amazing. But for short trips, I have a NIU electric scooter which you reviewed recently. Brilliant for running errands without getting the bigger bike out of the garage.
@ladyjjheather3 жыл бұрын
125s are underrated. Often bigger bikes arnt always necessary. yes if its easier to jump on the motorway to get to your destination you will want a bigger bike as some 125s do struggle with that speed. but if you are happy to set off maybe that bit earlier have fun on the back roads were 125s are more suited then you dont need anything bigger. But i also understand the want for that extra power and to have the knowledge that if you wanted to be abit silly on a quiet road you could be. Obviously not saying you should but we all know people do silly things. Plus 125s are so much cheaper to run they literally sip at the petrol were as a bigger bike doing the same route will need filled up a hell of alot more. But at the end of the day we all ride and we should all ride our own ride and not judge someone else for wanting to or even having to stay on a 125.

60mph is the max I mean a car won't go any faster overtaking somone and then get stopped by traffic lights maybe all cars should be limited to 60mph

2:08 to 2:20 good way for the scooter to break very fast. I ‘abused’ my brand new scooter and I had to sell it for just a few hundred quid the other day after only 7 months because it had some serious problems. You do have to take care of scooters you know….
@spicy1103 жыл бұрын
Have you ever owned a large cc bike? Because trust me in comparison they can be abused. The level of abuse is relative, I don't mean don't care for it but they do not need the same level of care.
@tarquin2trappybro3 жыл бұрын
@@spicy110 may not need the same level of care but they cannot be abused because it will come back to bite you when it breaks, especially the Chinese scooters which break more easily. So perhaps they’re more tolerant than bigger geared bikes as you said, but shouldn’t be abused to the point you were describing in the video.

Hope Spicy doesn't mind the question I have a Honda NC750 (just under 14k miles) Sprockets front n rear look OK (very little wear) but chain has about 3 links that are solid (seized/won't flex) I've tried (whilst chain still fitted to bike) paraffin, WD40, GT85, chain lube etc and some "gentle persuasion"....and nothing To replace chain and sprockets (as advised) hits the wallet at near £300 (first dealership quote)....ouch (I haven't got the necessary tools might be able to borrow hopefully) *Question* a) Should I buy a chain splitter and try to soak the chain b) Just replace the chain c} Replace sprockets and chain (as advised) Thanks in advance for any offering advice
@hazzalandy3 жыл бұрын
I'd buy a chain splitter and replace just the chain, snapping a chain is no fun
@spicy1103 жыл бұрын
Do not ride with stuck links! They are very likely to snap and at speed this can lead to it hitting your foot, smashing an engine casing or cause you to crash. You won't be able to get them unstuck, the chain is done. You must always replace both sprockets and chain at the same time. They wear together, if you put a new chain on old sprockets, it just will not last. however £300 is too much, you can get a chain and sprocket kit for around £80-£100, if you can not do the work yourself then you will be looking at around an hour of labor so £70ish....where they got £300 I have no idea!🙂
@philhunt92973 жыл бұрын
@@spicy110 Thanks Spicy for the response £300 is dealership price (I suspect OEM for parts and spot on for labour charge then VAT. The 3 links seem to travel around the rear sprocket OK (no visible gap) but if you look closely you can identify the slight kink - not sure how they "travel" around front sprocket although the teeth looked in fairly good condition about a month ago. Nobody else has warned about the potential dangers but will get it fixed (replace all) within a couple of weeks... Thanks again
@captainaverage7213 жыл бұрын
Sorry mate id bite the bullet and replace both chain and sprockets, you should get a half decent kit for around £100 to £150 and find a small independent shop maybe charge £50 labour to fit them..just read Spicys response there kind of backs up what I said

I never use GPS as that would just throw out all the comparisons I have made to now. Also I don't really think the standard 10% inaccuracy matters that much on a 10.3hp scooter, if that level matters get a scooter with 15hp.

Depends on why it's sticking. I think you will have to take it apart and work down the line. I think it is a cable pull? The cable maybe seized, lubricating it could solve the problem. Use the same methods as lubing a clutch cable.
