Lexus GS300 Diagnosis. No crank, no start, no CEL, no communication with engine control module

Checked power and grounds to ECM and everything checked. Was able to communicate with airbag and ABS modules with scan tool. Just had nothing from the engine control module. Hope this helps anyone else stuck on a real mind bender.

Man you saved me alot of money. Lexus quoted me $2000 to fix it on my gs350. I found a new OEM sensor on ebay for $148. Less than an hour to replace. Good stuff...many thanks!

I have a 2007 is 250, every time I try to start it after a fill up, it will crack bot won’t start, I have to wait for about 10 minutes to try it again and then it will fire up. It only happens every time a fill it up. Could it be something related to the fuel pressure sensor? I already replaced the canister purge valve. It wasn’t doing it for sometime after replacement, but it started doing it again.

Hmm, odd problem, I don’t think it’s this sensor as this is on the high pressure rail. Do you have codes?

My Mini Cooper did similar thing. Wouldn't turn on after it ran for 10-20min. Had to wait for it to cool. Then it ran again for 10min. Turned out to be the high fuel pressure pump. Which idk if your car has one. But I would make sure that's not it. Good luck

Most likely not, this sensor will usually cause it not to crank at all.

Can you test the fuel sensor without removing it?

Literally dealing with this right now. Did you have to take off intake manifold to unplug or only to remove? (2007 gs350 awd)

I was able to unplug without removing the manifold, it was a PITA to get to the plug though. Just gotta be patient and cool down when you start getting mad hah.

Quick question were is the transmission dipstick localed because i cant find it ?

No dipstick on that car. Has a procedure using a level check plug on the transmission oil pan.

I have a 04 gs300 , I changed coils but the coil wiring was messed up on the first pack , so me and my friends tried rewiring it and it won’t start anymore , is it fixable ?

My gs is doing the same thing, only difference is my car cranks no start. I was driving slow and engine shuts off no warning of any kind.

If it’s cranking it’s going to be something else. You gotta check for fuel and spark to rule those out.

Can you unplug it without removing intake to test it?

Yes, it's not the easiest thing to get to but it can be done, it's sandwiched against the firewall.

How do you diagnose that random problem.

If you have these symptoms, then you unplug the sensor and all of a sudden it will crank and you can connect a scan tool.

@@SkillCollectors think I have this issue but my scanner now keeps reading 0 code. My engine almost catches a start but the lights in the car flicker or dim if the radio is on or the dashboard light is brightened. I sprayed starter fluid in the intake still no start . My battery died so I bought a new one and within an hour that new battery died as well.
