What is the maximum wading depth of the GX550?

Are you able to tell the difference between OT+ and Prm by the rim/tire package? And did the drivers notice any major differences in capability between the two trims?

The OT gets 33” all-terrain tires on the 18” wheels shown in the video. Non-OTs have all-season tires with a smaller diameter and less aggressive tread, like the 20s shown on the Premium in the video. There are lots of other exterior differences on the OT vs non-OT like the black over fenders and door handles, different roof rails, skid plate, etc. Capability-wise, the embargo is still in effect but factually, the OT has more suspension travel due to the EKDSS system and is also equipped with multi-terrain select + crawl control which enhances capability beyond the non-OT models.

I have driven off road capable vehicles all my life because I work in wildlife conservation. To me none of these 4x4 tracks test anything. We have a Rainforest that we operate in and mud is the determining factor every day, especially during the rainy season. I recon that I could drive a standard 2x4 Isuzu diesel truck through this track with my eyes closed. Three kilometers of soaking wet muddy road set in steep hilly terrain would be a far better test for any vehicle. Muddy ruts can really ruin your day when you don't understand how to manage them. This is why I think Toyota made the mistake of locating the spare wheel under the vehicle instead of on a swing door at the back!
