Thanks for the video. Just some thoughts, having just finished. At the 2 min mark, if you have an extra person to push in on the retention spring plate, the pin comes out much easier. And at the 3 min mark, instead of pliers, using a C-clamp made it much easier to push the existing pads away from the rotor (and removing the brake fluid reservoir cap will make that part easier too). At the 4:30 min mark, you can again use a C-clamp to push the pistons back in. I really don't see how you can do it by hand. Lastly I removed the caliper to make it easier to insert the new pads without damaging the rotors. No criticism - just wanted to share some tips.

It should honestly be replaced because the backing of the brake pad is going to score the brake rotor with contact. When my friend asked me to change the pads in this video, I didnt know it was all the way down to the backing.

This is how not to..first u shouldnt use yr hand to pull to force it open..2nd u didnt open the calipers then u didnt clean the inside of it.

Hi I place it under the exposed pinch welds on the sides. Its the thin metal that runs from the front to the back.

Did not need to due to no air exposure to the brake fluid. It is recommended every 30k tho

It should, I did however inspect the back and it was in fact roughed up. But after the new brake pad, it was smooth again like the front. Also didnt expect a destroyed rotor surface from this brake job hahah so didnt have the rotors in hand. 😅

Yes rotor should always be checked for service limits and resurfaced or replaced with new brake pads.
