Lexus IS300 2JZGE Turbo build. 800hp daily driver!?

Part 3 in the build series on this 2003 Lexus is300 2jzge vvti turbo. She's finally running and driving after almost 2yrs of working on it, on and off. The car has a fully built 2JZ capable of well over 1000whp. Borgwarner S363 turbo, Fic 1400cc injectors, dual Walbro 485lph fuel pumps, R154 5speed transmission with a Spec stage 3 clutch and a driftmotion 3.5inch aluminum driveshaft. Full Ptfe fuel lines and GM flex fuel sensor, aeromotive FPR, tial 46mm wastegate, 3inch downpipe to full stainless steel 3.5inch exhaust. M85 Lsd differential. Ls400 front big brakes. Meagan racing engine mounts, custom Lake Built intake manifold, RMR 83.5mm throttle body, BC 264 intake and exhaust cams, BC stage 2 valve springs and titanium retainers, Ported and polished intake and exhaust ports. 2.5inch to 3.5 intercooler piping, cx racing intercooler, KoyoRad aluminum radiator. fully wire tucked engine bay, TEIN flex Z coilovers, Ecumaster Emu Black ecu. and much much more done to this car.

Always🤣you had an sc300 I think you mentioned? Just got a 2jz ge soarer I don’t suppose you know where I can find an exhaust that still use the dual tips system rather than something like a nur-spec single?

@Louis Zindawa I'm not sure I just built one for mine years ago. Idk if I'm going to keep it on once I built that car though, will probably just got to a full 4" single exit

@4:57 So I have this same exact Box I pinned myself with GXL 12 AWG wire and the problem actually isn't the relay but the fuse contacts. They SUCK!!!!, the relays may burn out eventually but the fuses will literally melt and not burn due to heat. I had that issue powering a 16" Spal Fan and ran the same relay this time with a Circuit breaker like the one you have using that can self reset & the relays ran much cooler. I eventually Put a larger relay on there but just for an FYI the main issue with this box is going to be the Fuse contacts, they don't have enough contact area to carry the correct amperage in turn creating heat. (I went through over 5 replacement relays which all melted too till I eventually bypassed the fuse and put a circuit breaker style one and used the same relays which no longer had that issue... lol I understand the frustration lol)

Yup those terminals can't handle much! I would get about 20mins of run time until the dual pumps just melted the fuses/relay. The upgraded massive relay did the job. It's been solid for 3k miles! I keep a spare in the trunk just in case though lol

Mpg works off of #1 injector. If ur on stock harness I’d ensure you separate that circuit. It will leave a ground on #1 which triggers the injector. Least that was my case. 2jzgte vvti swap in a93 sc300

Imma pile on Karen-ing about the Carbon Monoxide: Be careful with that CO, bro - especially with your youngster! I added a CO detector to my workshop out of an "abundance of caution", but learned CO levels quickly reach dangerous levels when running an uncatalyzed engine - even with shop doors open and fans running. CO should be taken very seriously. Car looks/sounds good.

A 650whp Is300 will definitely beat a stock hellcat, IS's weigh in around 3200lbs and hellcats are around 4400lbs!

Soldered each wire, time consuming but was able to put it exactly where I wanted everything!

How did you bypass the tps and everything else on the old intake setup? Just tune it out and delete it or are you still using it? Great job by the way car looks great.

Basically the only thing that is used from the old intake is just the TPS sensor, nothing else is needed since it was running a standalone EMU black ecu, the only reason to use the old components would be for the traction control which all that does is limit the throttle control. Other than that everything else is obsolete. And thank you!

Yeah if you're not launching at the track with slicks or super sticky tires it'll handle it. I have to upgrade to a twin disc on my r154, had a single disc clutch rated for 600lbs tq and it would slip in 4th gear doing highway pulls lol but the r154 held up so far

what's custom about the intake manifold? I'm looking for manifold that won't interfere with the brake booster.

I had to trim down the overall length where the throttle body mounts, trim the side to fit the is300 strut towers, and also trim the back so the a/c lines would not hit the manifold, I slightly notched out where the brake booster hit for it to clear enough without interfering when the engine tilts from hard acceleration

Where did you relocate your ECU too. Also did you put the oil return line in the lower oil pan or the actual part of the block

Both the stock ecu and the emu black are in the glove box. I drilled out the template thats on the side of the upper pan half and mounted a 10an flange to it

@relaxnheal8640 I was running north of 700whp, car was hit in the front back in July so going to be swapping this engine into my sc300, but will be running closer to 1000whp in that car so may be upgrading to a billet bracket but anything under 1k hp I haven't heard of people having any issues with stock

The lines are a kit that I bought from finishing lines. I custom built the mount for the abs pump though
