Great video! I'm just wondering if it's possible to do this job without a press? It seems like it should be possible to remove the race from the hub using the front wheel bearing kit that you used for the other operations. Is this correct? Would love to see more videos on your IS300. I'm the original owner of a 2001 bone stock model and am trying to do my best to keep it running using OEM or better parts. It's been a while since it's had wheel bearings done and it's about time. Thanks so much!

Rear wheel bearing you don’t have to press it

Do you recall if there was a little play with the bearing race to the knuckle. I had mine replaced and there is a little play. I can see the bearing kind of move around in the hub.

So come to find out from the oem maintenance manual the “play” is backlash and it is ok but there is a minimum measurement that is allowed.

DO NOT USE THE HUB PULLER LIKE THAT! You must remove the parking brake. The tool needs to rest on the outer part of the hub and exert force on that instead of the parking brake. If you let it rest on the parking brake the brake dust shield will bend!

which part of the video was that? I have my car ready to press the old bearings out and the new ones in but I’m having a hard time finding any videos on how to properly use the wheel bearing tool sets. I just want to make sure I’m doing the job right and efficiently

You basically took off everything that was unnecessary to change the wheel bearing. Lol! A word of advice, don't make the job harder than it is.
