My guess is you're going with an ES300h Ultra Luxury. My LS500's real world fuel economy per tank has been between 17.4 and 20.5 mpg which is awful but almost all my driving is suburban/city so I am really jealous of better numbers, particularly now. Looking forward to your new car videos.
@InternetDude2 жыл бұрын
You will have to wait and see. Thanks for the LS500 MPG info. Yeah the car isn't the best around town in terms of fuel efficiency.

Can't wait for your like/dislike video on the LS. I, from time to time, thought about upgrading my 2019 ES 300h UL to an LS (love the road presence of the LS), but the car is pretty much perfect and I got attached to it since I bought it brand new back then. I just reached 80 000KM with literally 0 problem and use it as a daily to commute to work (I just do oil changes and the an annual Service #3 right after winter during my winter tire change). The thing that really sealed the deal for the ES 300h is the unbeatable fuel economy. It consumes less than my previous 2010 Corolla S that I have been driving for nearly a decade (sits at around 210 000KM and still running ; gave it to my dad).
@InternetDude2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, stay tuned. I had a loaner 2020 ES300h UL for a couple of days last year, see my video on that. Solid car! To be honest I'd say keep your car or at least just drive an LS so you can feel the difference. Nicer interior in the LS but it has a little lag off the line which is due to the trans and computer programming I believe. Lots of power once you rev it up though. The ES hybrid does not have the same lagginess.

I've heard that the es350 ultra luxury is like 90% of the ls. So if u really want that extra 5% then go with the ls. Or u can just go to ur lexus dealer and ask em to test drive an ls

Great video @InternetDude, I am still rocking my 2011 Lexus LS 460L with now 110,000 miles since day one. I am going to drive this car to the ground, I would upgrade but it has everything I need and the air suspension is great for Indiana/MidWest American roads. Maybe we can see a LC 😀 next time!

Sounds like OP does a lot of city driving. If you do more highway/back roads driving, then your numbers are believable. OPs numbers would be even higher though with more highway driving.

The world events from 2 years ago until now mean I do more city driving than highway driving. Before that I had a good mix of each.

I should add that my driving is a fairly even mix of hwy/city. And I promise the average of 21.4 is real. Thanks for the comments and updates.

Hello 👋. I have a 2020 inspiration series and my massage seats don’t feel like they are as pronounced as they used to be. They actually feel recessed like in all the Mercedes that I have owned. Should I have them looked at. Also why does the concierge seating kick off all the time.
@InternetDude2 жыл бұрын
Oooh the Inspiration is a very nice model 👍 The seat massage turns off after 15 minutes, it’s annoying. My symptom was a hissing noise while it was operating. You may have your massage intensity turned down there are 5 levels of intensity.

Eh actually no, it really isn't that responsive, not off-the-line. Once it's going it has lots of power, but not stop-and-go. Stay tuned I plan on doing what I like / dislike about my LS before it's gone!
@blackice74082 жыл бұрын
It's a luxury car - a flagship at that. So the engine and transmission in this setup is designed for smoothness and comfort. So getup and go will not be as instantaneous like the is500. But it does have a good amount of tq to move its 2.5 ton mass

How come you did not buy another LS I wanna buy LS 2020 to let me know
@InternetDude2 жыл бұрын
Honestly the biggest reason is I want hybrid only and the new LS hybrid is not a good value. I went for an ES hybrid simply because it’s half the price and will not have the throttle lag off the line. Check out my recent videos on what I like & hate about the car. The throttle lag is annoying around town but the car is wonderful on the highway.

Can someone tell me if a top spec ES luxury Lexus has a lot of road noise in the cabin, my nx is nice, but it has a little to much road noise for my liking. The ES has a good reputation. I had a base model 250 ES for a loan vehicle a few weeks ago when my lexus was getting serviced and i was disappointed with it. It was ok at best.
@InternetDude2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I now have a top spec Ultra Luxury 2022 ES 300h hybrid. There are nice things such as dual pane side glass, active noise cancellation, etc. However they hybrid model has more sound deadening than the V6 version, so I highly recommend the hybrid ES if you are thinking about that. Plus the ride is wonderfully smooth in fact not that much different from the LS, for real! The base ES250 has a noisier engine with less sound deadening and plus the engine runs all the time. With the hybrid there are LOTS of times the engine isn't even running. When the engine is not running it's as quiet as an EV. In fact quieter than my Tesla because my Tesla didn't have acoustic glass or noise cancellation. Test drive a top spec ES300h and I think you will like it! I have a video review of a loaner ES300 hybrid on my channel if you look around, it was about a year ago I think.

2 years of the LS... Did you lease the car or you own it? Will you be losing a lot due to the depreciation? LS's don't sell that fast and the residue value is bad post lease. I'm getting an NX450h+ and hopefully it's arriving within the next two weeks. It's anytime.... Looking forward to see your new ride.

I own it, I can just hang on to it and trade when the new vehicle arrives. I estimate depreciation of $20K to $30K

I will be purchasing my first Lexus. The evil me wants the LS but the good me tells me the ES UL. I want the wow factor of the LS but not at the cost of reliability because I DO keep my vehicles till the wheels fall off. But my better half points me to the reliability of the ES 300h.... my question is did you feel at anytime that the 3.5 TT motor would not be reliable as the previous gen LS's. Or do you think the LS 500h has to many moving parts (aka the trans) for it to be reliable. I have noticed Toyota/Lexus keeps things simple. As the Laws of Physics will always stand true so will KEEPING IT SIMPLE = RELIABLE.
@InternetDude2 жыл бұрын
You should check out my newest video. I liked the LS but ultimately I have a better car now, a '22 ES300h UL. You & I think very similarly. Trust me when I say the ES 300h UL is absolutely the better choice for you, and I've owned both!! The ES hybrid is such a proven platform. The LS I had some minor issues like the seat massage failing twice. I don't entirely trust the turbos in the real long run, they would probably be fine if you baby the car but if you drive it sporty they won't last as long. If you keep a car beyond say ~6 years, no question ES hybrid better choice. It even has a 10 year warranty on the hybrid battery! I considered the LS500h but even it has a 4 speed trans and the lag off the line is just unbearable over time I just couldn't take it anymore.

I do love the look of the 2018+ LS500s but once they dropped the v8, I was out... I have been driving the LS for 20 years now, I will not buy a new one any more... I tried it and I was disappointed with it. It's a joke to me that they dropped the v8 when the others are doing v12's... I get the EV thing but, a very respected car guy said, Moldered EVs are like cell phones, when the battery dies, you through it away..... When a tesla batery for a model S costs $22k, or even a Y costs $15K if you don't have the long range... Yea, I agree...
@InternetDude2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. Yes the new LS500 is nothing like the previous LS, and even having owned one for almost 2.5 years I would not recommend it. I have replaced it with a smoother brand new Lexus ES hybrid. The powertrain is much smoother, less things to go wrong (turbos etc.) so far I only miss the massaging seat and that's about it. EV's yes we are still in the very early days of them. Sure they are "cool" and "exciting" but I would not own one out of warranty again! Too many expenses in the long run. It's $28,000 Canadian for a Tesla battery out of warranty.

@@InternetDude LEXUS lost its path i fear. f.e they cancel their famous V6 and V6Hybrid in the upcoming RX SUV as well as in the GS450H. Now Mazda come along and announced bigger SUV like XC-60 and 70 ! with Hybrids, PHEV AND new inline 6cyl and Turbo 6cyl. as well ! Their interior is impressive. And LEXUS have only 4cyl left....i like my old growling V6Hybrid a lot but will not buy a overstressed crying 4cyl Hybrid !
@InternetDude2 жыл бұрын
The current 4 cylinder hybrid system is very advanced. My wife has the RAV4 Prime with that powertrain and it has loads of power and is not overstressed like typical 4 cylinder vehicles. The small electric motors in the hybrid eCVT really help a lot. V6's and bigger are going extinct due to emission regulations.
