Others may offer more value but nobody beats Lexus/Toyota for quality and reliability. Not even the Germans

There really is no competitor to this vehicle other than its better looking sibling Land Cruiser. This vehicle is built to last 20 years, that is how over built the mechanicals are. It is not built to gimmick features of Germans or Koreans, or Mexican and a Chinese built components of Americans. It is one of a kind to go outdoors. You will not find a vehicle with as high quality and few maintenance issues if you plan on owning 20 years. Otherwise go lease some gimmicky German or Escalade or something. Or if you care about Apple car play or touch screens.

Just got a 21 LX570, thrilled! Last of the proven V8. Was 63K w only 40,000 miles. I’ll keep it forever

I own one, and it’s totally unnecessary if you go by the numbers (even a Highlander almost provides about the same useful interior space) but nothing else feels and drives like it both on and off-road. Feels like it’s carved out of solid metal. That in itself is worth it, not to mention that it’s a workhorse land cruiser underneath the skin.

Well, it's now 2024 and Lexus has gotten better with their technology ... 'bout time, huh? My next vehicle will probably be this or the GX 460. Thanks for all the timely and pertinent info. I've always liked your no-nonsense reviews.

Good points, Lauren! Why don’t car makers EVER provide a better place to stow our full-sized phones? It’s been 13 YEARS since the IPhone was introduced. I’m convinced part of the reason is they still want us to buy their over priced navigation systems! Also agree that the front end is way too extreme.

If someone spends near 100,000 for this SUV or Land Cruiser, I really doubt they care about fuel economy 🤣

I just bought a 2019 CPO LX 570. the build quality, longevity and aesthetics have far surpassed RR and Bentley. If someone owns one and put thousands of miles on it, that’s a true ownership review. I could have bought any vehicle I wanted. There are so many Bentley, RR, Aston Martin 30 miles around my zip code but I could only find a few LX 570. This vehicle can do all other exotic cars can’t.

Bought a preowned 2020. Yes flaws, but the flaws make it perfect. I have a 2 row in nightfall mica with 55k miles.

Your review is absolutely horrible. This is a classic based on the land cruiser. The land cruiser proved itself in the toughest environments around the world. I really don't think you should be doing car reviews.

I'd be very satisficed with a new Palisade for the price difference, I could have a Telluride also with change left.

This is coming from an owner of a 2004 Land Cruiser (currently with 315,000 miles) and I’m questioning the value score. If someone is looking to own a vehicle for 2-5 years and that’s it, then this is a terrible vehicle for the money. It’s value comes from owning for 10+ years, the durability and quality of build is outstanding. I owned a 2017 Escalade ESV, and by the time it hit 70,000 miles it was obvious to me the Escalade was not built as well as my much older Land Cruiser.

Maybe stow-n-go 3rd row? Also that rear wiper should be mounted at the top of the glass. The rear spoiler would provide some protection from heavy snow and debris. Otherwise, this rig should last several hundreds of thousands of miles without any major issues.
