Lexus LX570 Center Diff Lock Light Blinking 😢

Perfect timing for this video. My 2010 LX with 176k miles just started doing this but also came off by itself. I’ll definitely try exercising the diff lock on/off to make sure it works properly. Thanks

Just got back from a test drive with a 2015 lx and we had this light flashing. I figured it was something of this nature was it sat for a bit and the system was probably cold. I do recall old Toyota/Lexus owners manual saying it’s good to cycle and drive with the diff on for a bit at low speeds. Your video is highly informative.

I was able to get it to come out of the fast flashing by gunning while turning hard at parking lot speeds. It turned to a slow flashing. Then when i restarted and it went away. Still trying to exercise the diff. Cant bring myself to drive it normally if its flashing but it definitely disengaged with the sharp turn and a little gas. Hope this helps yall. Going back and forth did not help me.

Yep. I’m pretty good about flipping on the 4L, but don’t recall ever hitting the diff lock button.

What about if the light stays on , on vehicle, the 4by4 light? What can be done

It’s humidity/moisture. It has nothing to do with ‘exercising’ it other than the heat temporarily gets rid of the moisture which allows the POST to succeed. I saw a video of the actuator being repaired. It’s a job. :(.

I have the same issue. It only happens when the ambient temps are around 65 and lower. If I drive down the road about a mile and let the car warm up, shut it off and turn it back on it goes away. Every time.

I always work mine on a dirt or gravel road every couple weeks.

I sure hope you didn't torch your Center differential! If you drove it with it locked on the highway at highway speeds it might be trashed.
