lenny hernandez If you have a check engine light on then you need to fix that first and then the VSC will turn off.

Bie Ngosa You should install the clip with the car off. That’s what I would recommend. But should work either way since the plug has constant power.

@@TheLANDSQUID hey bro this just happened to my gx470 today along with not being able to shift out of park when I start the car I have to override the shift lock release to get it into drive. There was four lights that came on the abs vsc off vsc trac and anti skid. But they came on intermittently and did not stay on continuously for the entire trip just as I’m pulling off out of park and a few more times throughout a road trip but there is nothing wrong with my car it never effected performance. Did your lights ever back come back on after you reset if with with paper clip trick? And also were the lights coming up intermittently for you or did they stay on until you reset it?

Sound like you may have an issue with one of the speed sensors. Did you ever figure it out?

I have a 2002 Lexus RX 300. I had blinking VSC & ABS Lights flashing and nothing else worked in getting them reset. I did the paper clip action, as stated in this video, and both reset and stopped blinking. Thanks for the info.

One thing to add. On mine I actually had to disconnect the battery first wait 15-20 minutes for charge to die and then reconnect the battery and do this procedure. Cleared the code.

Worked on my isF. Thank you very much. Deleted an o2 sensor code after replacing but the vsc stayed. This took it right off. Aggravating the cel triggers this and doesn't let me go into 1st or have traction

Samson Wang Then is wasn’t just triggered. You may have a bad wheel speed sensor or something else. You’ll need to get it scanned. Let me know what faults you get I will try to help.

Hi, i recently replaced both of the front cv axles on my car. These axles were replaced while there was a check engine light on the car along with trac and vsc flashing as well. The car became a pain to drive after the axles replacement. Car drives fine straight but is hard to turn. It's almost as if there is no power going to the wheels when i turn the wheel and give it gas. The car did drive fine before the axles were replaced, and at the time, the check engine light and vsc were both on. Problems started after the axle replacement. Should i have done the check engine light fix first and then the axles??

John CW Chan Hi ! And thanks ! Usually if there is a check engine light that always triggers the VSC light as well. You would need to get the code scanned for the check engine light it could be one of a hundred different issues. You can get it scanned for free at any auto zone. @@ueray4 it worked but it was a temporary fix.. so I bought a code reader and I reset the alarm that way.... The alarm will come back on after about 10 miles of driving... Doesn't seem to have an effect on the car at all... Love my ride

PullMeSoftly44 Hopefully it works out for you. But just know whenever a check engine light comes on the VSC light comes on with it. I would look into the check engine light first. More than likely if you reset the check engine light the VSC light will go off.

So, I tried another method by disconnecting both terminal from the battery and wait several minutes before connecting them back an start the car, that finally solved my problem. PullMeSoftly44 Yep. Disconnecting the battery will reset the check engine light. So the VSC light was on because the check engine light. If it does come back on you will need to get the check engine light scanned to see what the problem is. Hopefully it stays off!

My 2007 gs430 had the diagnostic say the right front wheel speed sensor fault. On checking the connector I noticed it has some vertigris on the brass pins and in the receiving sockets of the plug. Cleaning those terminals cleared the fault.

Will this work for my 2006 Toyota 4runner? I had seen other videos using the paper clip but for the 4runner the other videos showed that one paper clip is in the 3rd hole on the top left and the other paper clip is in the 4th hole bottom right. I tried it and it didn't work, I had to touch them 4 times and turn the vehicle off and turn back on again and touch the clips together for 20 sec and then turn it off and on again. It was a workout. Please tell me I can follow your steps. Thanks.

Terrance Gamble I’ve never tried it on the 4Runner but it should be the same procedure since I did this on a 2006 Lexus. Also on a 2018 Toyota. And it was the same. But I can’t say for sure on your vehicle. Won’t hurt to try. Let me know how it goes.

The VSC is on because the check engine light. You can clear them by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for 10 mins. But if the lights comes back you will need to get it scanned to see the issue.

Hey Man! just bought a beautiful 2007 is250 one owner. 167k miles Check engine, VSC and traction control light came up, I used a snap on OBD reader and codes P0894 and P2714 were shown. I watched a lot of videos and read a lot about this and it seems to affect a lot of lexus owners and seems to have multiple solutions. How will you approach this? I am very tempted to try the paper clip in the obd since I used that with a corolla and solve the problem. the car drives fine with no issues

The VSC light in your situation is on because the check engine light is on. They go on together. I would start by getting the car scanned for codes and go from there.

Sometimes you have to repeat the procedure. Unless its a hard default then you need to address the issue.

Emmanuel Tenkorang thanks correct. This only works for the VSC light on by itself. If you have a check engine light on that’s the reason the VSC light is on. You can clear that by disconnecting the battery for 10 mins.

S Chance It should definitely work for your vehicle. Did you have the power on ? And compare with the video to make sure you were in the correct spot on the connector.

Try the door sensor they have a tendency to fail. 84231-53010 is the Toyota part number.

Nhat Tran Your welcome! I just had it parked in the garage. Doesn’t have to be perfectly flat but recommended to be as close as possible.

Nhat Tran The procedure also recalibrates the steering angles. So it best to do it so it doesn’t throw the steering angle sensors off.

If it’s just the VSC light on this procedure will be the same on the IS.

Hi I changed the clock spring and steering angle sensor (I broke old by mistake) job was easy turned on now have trc and vsc lights. I have scan tool so reset steering angle sensor and cleared codes. U0126 keeps coming back. Lost communication with SAS control module. I tried all of these hacks also the one where you touch the cables 4 times within 8 seconds into the reset mode. No joy I still have the lights. Any tips or is my new (used of ebay) unit bad is my next thinking. Thanks in advance also checked every fuse. I did the job with battery disconnected and also have left disconnected over night to see if that sorts it. Still no. Also test drive to see if it re learns but no.

Henry Phillips Hi! Sounds like you covered all the basics. I would suspect a bad unit if everything is hooked up properly. I would swap it with another one to confirm. Also check all your connections.

@@FlipITGarage Fixed it! I was rite: The new used part on ebay was to blame! I only broke my clock spring not the SAS so worth a try I put my old SAS on the new clock spring and it worked first time! Re calibrated. No codes to clear because it was all happy. This all started because I was aligning the steering wheel to the rack for the correct amount if turns each way. Now I have done that job also needs major wheel alignment it was loose and way out! I hoped fixing this would also solve the serious brake judder but unfortunately it hasn't. This judder causes bad wheel bearings and drop links after 6 months it's so bad! New brakes all round also every bush and ball joint is good. New tyres and wheel balance. Drive / prop shafts good. On a Lexus is250. Any suggestions 🤔

Hi, my Lexus GS300 2006, very often show the sign of brake systems failure + check engine and VSC, three at the same time. Went to garage at least 9 times, none of those mechanics can fix it. They replace all 4 ignition coils, one set of spark plugs and one set of exhaust spark plugs, and two days later, these three hell signs come up again, I feel hopeless to get rid off these. Hopefully you have some great tips on it. Thank you

Recently got a 08 is250, i have an intermittent issue with the vsc light, it comes on after driving a distance over 30km. Though if I switch the car off and on, the vsc light goes off. On the obd scanner it says foreign object interference or something similar on the left back wheel. I bought a new wheel speed sensor but when I installed it the vsc light came on immediately when driving. Would the new sensor be faulty or should I try this and see if it works?

It may be an issue with the wheel bearing itself that the speed sensor uses to read the data. The code was for a wheel speed sensor and you change the sensor correct ? I would lean towards faulty wheel bearing.
