No kidding, my 2015 Soul seems more modern. At least that has a touch screen and inbuilt navigation. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay too. It got a replacement battery so range isn’t much worse either. I don’t know what Toyota is doing, this car is at least 5 years too late.

@@osmanaslan6232 CHAdeMO is the smarter plug than CCS. It had vehicle to grid capability since the beginning. In other words, you can feed back power into your home or even the public grid with every CHAdeMO car, and use it for solar storage. In another attempt to delay the transition to EVs, VW introduced the unwieldy and stupid CCS plug. But don't worry, Hyundai figured out a way to feed energy back via CCS, and since VW own the German government and CCS, they will hurry up and present a solution for CCS V2G of their own and make it the European standard.

Its just a lexus thing. I remember my CT200h had around 15 L fuel left out of a total of 45 or 50 L when the needle hit R. It was really weird. I had to fill up often because I wasnt comfortable driving with the needle hitting the bottom on the fuel gauge. Its weird that they do the same with this EV. It seems that the japanese dont trust us drivers. :O

Apparently it is meant to have 20% buffer on E. Now the question is is that 20% of the claimed range (which here in Aus is 360klms) or the real range.... I drove this car from 100% to 0% as well and wasn't game to try to do that either 😂.

V2G charging stations exist for CHAdeMO, but VW as the owners of both the German government and the CCS standard made sure it remained illegal in Europe to this day. However, CHAdeMO isn't the standard to turn to in Europe today, and now that Hyundai have come up with CCS V2L I'm almost sure we'll very soon see VW bring CCS V2G to the table and make it a legal standard.

Kona mi har en Lexus UX300e og datteren min og kona kjørte til Lillehammef som er drøyt 22 mil fra oss med vinterdekk og ca 0 grader med 5 mil igjen da de kom fra + buffer som man ikke får røre. Tilbake var det fortsatt rundt 0 grader men nedbør og våt veibanen hvor indikatoren viste 4 mil igjen + buffer. Det er en veldig komfortabel bil og for normal nærkjøring hvor man lader hjemme er det en bra bil med overraskende lavt forbruk rundt 0 grader. Men chademo-ladingen passer best om man trenger en liten topping for en tur på 35 mil enn hutilading for lange turer. Men mange ønsker en komfortabel og sikker bil for kortere turer og der er bilen bra. Kona mi har en Luxury utgave og jeg vet ikke noe om de andre utgavene, men Luxury utgaven har veldig lite støy.

LOL, I (and everyone I guess) get higher distances with the old Ioniq 28 kWh at same speeds - and that one is recharged 0%-80% in 23 minutes! That Toyo... err, Lexus really is a pathetic car screaming "let's prove EVs don't make sense!" So, if speedometer is showing 97 km/h when GPS reports you traveling at 90km/h, what's the real speed when speedometer shows 90 km/h? Is then the car traveling at 80km/h maybe? Is that the Lexus master plan to somehow "save" their range, show 90km/h but actually go 10km/h below the limit?

Hi, about under 0% buffer, on ct200h hybrid remaining range was a little strange to me at first. Range falls to 0 based on (I guess) estimated range and left about 50km below 0. Sometimes low gass orange warning appears after the range reaches 0. This is very conservative and most cars will show range including the one remaining on low gas warning or won't display the range under 50-60km remaining. Maybe lexus has kept this conservative way of showing remaining range on EV. To be sure that the client will not be out of juice without obvious warnings of the car. Cheers

I have a CT200h and mine is the same, there's almost 2 gallons left in the tank when it hits 0 range. My guess is they do it to protect the hybrid system and to stop you running out in general. It wouldn't surprise me if they did the same with their EVs as well, even if it reduced the visible usable range.

Toyota/Lexus is the next Nokia. It is at least 2 EV tech generations behind Tesla, Hyundai/Kia, VW for the BMS, never mind the inaccurate speed, noise and Chademo plug. Lexus media advertising spend on this car has been huge in the UK so they clearly intend people to buy it. It’s mutton dressed as lamb. A shocking result for a ‘premium’ brand. Did you try the hybrid assistant app to display live stats of the battery pack? It is designed for hybrids of course, but on my Lexus (hybrid fossil) it displays SoC of the 'self-charging' battery, stats about regen and consumption. I use the same OBD plug as you do. Since Lexus modified a Fossil chances are it uses the same params on the obd bus.

I think that specific Lexus unit has something wrong or maybe it needs a software update or something. It is hard to believe that Lexus set up a 20% buffer of the total battery capacity on purpose even considering the 10 years warranty... Don't you think? I do not think their idea was to sell a car with 150-200km range (under spring temperatures) in 2021 even if the car is based on a fossil platform. I am curious to see if Lexus wanna give you another chance to test a different car ...

I don’t know why you guys are talking crap about this car because this car perfectly sums up Toyota and Lexus’s vehicles. Very slow, very noisy, very old fashion, very heavy, very cramped, and gets trashed in every aspect by the Korean counterpart. The main selling point for Toyota has always been reliability, but this is an EV and reliability issue isn’t a concern in an EV because they are pretty robust. So I don’t understand why they even bother to try and make something half baked and disappointing like this.

I really think they tried to bring something because they realised how late they were. Also I think the biggest marketing failure was that they branded it the UX. Every other car manufacturer branded their EV as a new model so buyers couldn't compare it to the (technically exact same) model in their line-up. It makes no sense financially to pay an extra $20,000 - $30,000 here in Australia for the EV version of the exact same car (UX200 or UX250h) because with the cost of electricity vs current petrol costs it'll take almost 700,000klms to get your money back! (Yes I've done the maths in my latest video 😂)

This car is a sad joke. Small battery, Chademo port, slow charging rate, heavy, high consumption per kilometer, ugly old infotainmentsystem, no navigation, noisy, not cheap.

It is a shame cos the car is actually well done but the range... I actually drove this UXe for the whole day from 100% to 0% and the expected range is no where near what is outlined! You're welcome to watch it and let me know what you think.

In France, from now on, there will no longer be any charging stations installations with the Chademo. Too bad for this Lexus which has this non-European grip.

This Lexus looks cute but must be a stopgap model as an electric. Seems like a Lexus version of the Toyota c-hr. And vastly overpriced.

Lexus has not navigation !!!! Louder noise might came from Japanese try to take out petty things to make car body as light as possible so that the car can go longer. So loud noise from body vibration happen consequently.

The car is quieter inside than all other cars. Like any Lexus. Thats why humans and measuring equipment think its loud because of wrong tires which are too wide on bad roads. I would go for 17" and quiet tires anyway. I am sure when Björn is going to measure the spectrum he will find out the same.
