for those retro fit LEDs you can keep the pigtail attached and disconnect them at the orange "T24" connector. I like to use the wing clip on the socket and hook it where the power comes into the can at the top to keep the socket out of the way then just disconnect and reconnect via the orange connector when swapping

It would only matter if the wires were on the top or bottom if that middle tab on the outlet was removed. Typically you would see that in a switched outlet. Something else had to have been happening to make it work. You should get one of those plug in 3 light testers to add to your arsenal. Keep up the good work

Lol i hand one blow out on me... just once.... never again. I did turn off the hot water at the tank and even checked in the kitchen that the hot was off... but the hot and vmcold was swaped in the wall. And it was the cold side leeking...
