Is there a way to get my fan to kick back on? My fan is on bottom right in the back if facing the back. Fridge jsnt cooling. Freezer is good. I took it apart had a plastic bag stuck in the ice maker even though not hooked up but still moved I’m sure. Had a couple huge rat corpses in the area by that fan thing (parents outdoor barn fridge. Gross) cleaned it all out but not sure where to start. Fan isn’t moving so guessing that’s it? Top fan is good but button isn’t moving

We replaced the capacitor last year. All summer this year ran fine and very cold. We had some cooler days shut it off and now when we turn it back on there is like ice on the pipes outside. We cleaned the coils, replaced air filter, even replaced the insulation on the copper but still happening. The unit sounds fine. Could it be the capacitor we replaced it with is bad or do we need to add refrigerant? Is it easy for us to do ourselves? We have an older ruud system that uses r22

What if you take the switch off but you don’t and hvac the water from the pipe but not the outside?? Plz help 🥲🥲

I started in maintenance a little over five years ago. My boss at the time was no good he would not like teaching because he said he had to pay and go to school others should have to do the same. I started as a porter got promoted to tech in about one year, I survived that property with these videos man, ( whether it was a one bedroom or three bedroom. It didn’t matter he wanted the turn done in four-six hours ) I didn’t know any better and thought that’s how it was when my moral was low and I mean low these videos would help me through the day. That was a garden style 296 unit property built in the 60,s I then went to a 766 podium style property built about 12 years ago studied and got my epa 608 universal. I’m currently a tech at a 368 unit garden style complex built in the 70,s, all within the same company I have been a tech for four plus years now. Some days are good some are better, I live in an area that i could not afford if I did not work for this company and live onsite.a couple times a year I’ll help out at other properties and I get a glimpse into that college dorm demographic you use to work . With that said and established As a man I want to Thank you Lex for what you do! I bought a dirty maintenance show shirt a while back , next month I’ll get the maintenance man shirt and the I can’t I’m on on call shirt. Thanks once again Skid!

I Have a Goodman heat pump, less than 4 yrs old. Installed with my new home. Unit failed after 2 years. Installer said coolant was overcharged (600+ psi). Replaced compressor $1200 under warranty (part and labor). Unit failed again after that, blower motor was burned out. I paid $300+ to replace that. This past June unit failed again. $456 to replace capacitor. Unit failed again today blows warm air as usual, compressor and fan are running. No problem whatsoever during heating season only during cooling season. Needless to say I am not impressed with this Goodman heat pump which has cost thousands to repair and less than 4 years old. LEMON!!! Any suggestions?

It would be really surprising if First Co doesn’t end up with a class action lawsuit for those coils. For hanging TVs, the residents’ lease might require them to have maintenance do it so they don’t damage drywall trying it themselves. I lived at an apartment complex where the manager specifically told us not to do it ourselves.

Thank you so much for posting this video! Two of our burners started doing this and our range is only 4 years old. I did as you did and replaced all 4, which after removing definitely all show signs of burning. The installation was super easy, I had to order the parts online and wait for them, but it was less than a week. Without this video I probably wouldn't have felt comfortable trying to investigate the issue and fix it myself as I have no electrical experience, but it's literally unplug and plug back in. I appreciate experts such as yourself helping us without experience to do these easy repairs to save money.

So every motor has different ohm values ? Where do i get that info?

Not all dryers are created equal I thought I'd save some money so I followed the steps but my dryer had wires attached to the door and to a panel. It looked nothing like as described and I quit trying bought a new dryer after all my dryer is 17 years old,😢

I've been in this field for almost 20 years, its scary now. Techs thinking of changing the rotation by changing the ground. 3 phase being left hot, and when I bought up getting asked what the problem is, people shouldn't be back there anyway was the response. They dont know the difference between metric and standard.

I paid someone to do this for me, and it's loose again.

I cleaned my unit, other day vacuumed all compartments out, had small wire on outside wires were exposed I wrapped that wire with electrical tape now woke up house 62 degrees won’t shut off any ideas

So 100% agree with you anytime you come out after hours or for an emergency on-call repair that should be additional to your normal pay at overtime rate. This is the type of maintenance technicians need to insist upon at higher and the company won’t agree. Don’t work for them.

Pool company said I have to pay 1500 to remove it. But you’re saying I can rub a tablet on it? I’m so confused I feel scammed…
