Leyland Leopard YSF 87S Ex Strathtay Scottish Alexander Hop aboard for a chippy trip

We hop aboard YSF 87S as the chosen vehicle for the Friday Mystery chippy trip run which this month we end up at Daniela's Fish Bar East Boldon South Tyneside.
Just a very short video and a brief taste of the journey and chip shop.

Fantastic ride out tonight and we where certainly given a treat listening to that wonderful 680 burble and gear changes. Had a few cheers and waves as we passed through Durham City even a few hands out at bus stop hoping for us to stop to jump aboard and enjoy the journey too.

Lovely old lass. Lincolnshire road car used to run these on the Scunthorpe to Hull and Scunthorpe to Lincoln routes in the 90s, I used to like riding on these.

Good to see the hubodometer. Just needs the bracket painted to match the hub. I grew up seeing hubodometers on Leyland Leopards and loved to watch them in action as the wheel rolled. Some had them fitted direct to the Leyland hubcap.

It's great that such an old bus has been kept in such a good mechanical condition. However, it's a shame that some people have covered the exterior in so many silly stickers. There's maybe a case for the vehicle to be stripped of all the stickers and simply gives a fresh paint job. No real need to alter the colour scheme I wouldn't have thought.

@@neilburns8869 Last year the owner entered and completed the Rust2Rome event where you drive your vehicle more notably a banger car rather than a Leyland Leopard from Edinburgh to Rome and completed the journey without issue except a few bodywork scrapes along the way .
