Foundations' role seems to be more to carry forward some things that will be rotating out next year. Resolute Reinforcements comes to mind as an example. I'm pretty glad it's not defining things entirely on its own, but I feel like a lot of good support for "Not Gruul/Red Aggro" got added in.

@@GoldenSkeeter adding oculus would be way too cute for this deck, I’ve been jamming it and usually threatening lethal turn 4/5 consistently. Oculus would just get in the way….wish the card had a better home then in the azorius djinn shell though.

Embercleavve at home.. I use it mainly for unstobbable slashers in mono-black. I would add Aphelia, Viper Whisperer to justify the axe it even more as double strike and trample are good with deathtouch but that one is unfortunately not standard legal. Bit strange that they are releasing products supposedly aimed at beginners and marketed as part of the set that's supposed to stay in standard for 5 years and include cards that are not in fact standard legal to begin with... With reprints I kinda understand it (but they should really have double set symbols or something to mark those ) but Aphelia is not that. Weird. And there's rumors (perhaps more than rumors) than UB sets are going to be standard legal.. Oh well - I like Marvel but the cards I'we seen in spoilers seem a bit OP. for standard.

It’s nice but embercleave having flash and equipping when cast kind of makes a difference. If you don’t start with this on the battlefield you’re paying 7 for it as a sorcery.

Neat deck. Small sample size but seems nifty. Dont know if its good enough against most midrange piles. Also disagree with your summation of the standard format. Things have never been more diverse for standard and theres tons of things to build. Just so happens both card draw and aggro is good. Lol

ive always said standard is diverse, there is a wide range of decks possible but your deck does either have to be super fast or draw a ton of cards, doesn't mean there aren't like 6 or 7 decks doing that
